It’s a 2013 VW Tiguan. Back then they required 91 octane or more. In an emergency i could use 87, but they said not to do so more than that. All their new ones run on regular and premium will give you about 10 more hp. Because it has a turbo I don’t want to chance it. I will look once again at the manual.

My daughter had one of those. I know why they refer to VW as Hitlers revenge. Needless to say that one does not reside here anymore.

Haha, I’m well aware. They are great vehicles until something breaks. Expensive repairs. If we do another it’ll probably be a lease.

The porch really does look nice. I hope you don't get snow before you can stack on the porch.

Made a fire in the furnace this evening. It has warmed up 6 degrees so far, but its only mid 40's and no wind outside.

I did discover one balancing damper that was rattling and of course, it was right over a finished ceiling of the basement bathroom!

I was able to reach it and reposition/tighten it...so far, so good.

We have one too, not in the best of shape but it runs well and gets me to and fro. And we can fix most things here unlike our newer ones. No car payment, we'll fix that gas guzzler all day long!

She loved it and it was a nice car just constant problems. She bought a new equinox and never looked back.

That's nothing for gas prices. I saw $5.05 / gal in lake Tahoe. That was regular 87. Towards the bay area where we went afterwards was 4.13/gal for regular.

Yeah, check the manual. VW/ Audi were bad about being special whether they need premium, turbo or not. New ones they say specifically that 87 is fine, but that you'll get more power with premium.

Yeah just looked it up for your 13 Tiguan. "Premium fuel recommended for maximum performance". Just like my audi manual said. So no, you don't need to buy premium. The knock sensor will do its job and adjust to lower octane.

Umbagog state park? Yeah looks very familiar to me as well. I drove that area twice a week when I lived in Bethel.

Sounds like she got lucky with that equinox. Those have same really poor reliability ratings. Whole engines and or tranny's go out on those way before they should. 4 and 6 cylinder versions over the years on several generations of these had big problems.
