Yep, the yeast needs a lil sugar to make alcohol. Might as well make it really good sugar:thumbs:

How difficult was it to gel coat? I've painted several vehicles, but never gel coated a boat.

Just brushed and rolled it on. It's not a top notch job, but it's an old boat with flaws in the surface anyway. So that said....not bad at all, definitely no harder than painting a wall in a house, aside from measuring and mixing. To do a real high quality job would be a bit more intensive, mainly as far as simply putting more time into prep and patience while painting (although there's a time limit before it dries, can't mix too much at a time). I daresay spraying would be the best finish, but a dense foam roller does a pretty good job.

I have tried to very patiently do my own physical therapy. (I don’t really know what I’m doing, but :))

I think I should have done a little more stretching, and in different ways, a little earlier. I feel fortunate to be back to walking and running these distances now though. So must be doing something right. Hopefully it will finish healing. I’m trying to slowly build it back up. Also hope there is nothing wrong that I don’t know about in there. Could be. But in most cases not much “they” can do. Best to heal up on our own unless surgery is absolutely necessary. We will see :binoculars:

So.....at least at home Depot, which I try to avoid going to, but the fact that basically their whole inventory is on the public website makes it an easy way to get a rough idea where prices are.

    a 2x4x8, $5.18. A 1x4x8, $4.85.

    a 2x6x8, $9.88. A 1x6x8, $9.25.

I thought that was bad, almost the same price for half the wood. But then I check the American home Depot site.
now, remember our dollar is worth less so prices will seem higher, but....

    a 2x4x8, $3.64 USD. A 1x4x8.....$8.55 USD.....

    a 2x6x8, $8.32 USD. A 1x6x8, $13.23 USD.

I think I'd be trying to rip 2x6 into 1x6 at that rate.....

It gets better...my FIL checked at Menards a few weeks ago and said a 16' 2x4 was only a few cents more than a 8'! Welcome to 2021 backwards world!
Edit: actually, I think it was cheaper

I never got to finish splitting and stacking wood. Too hot and had to mow grass. Fuel going in before I go try to get some of that done now.

Such majestic creatures. My wife finally got to see a wild moose when we visited new England in the fall of 2019. It was not far from where you are as it was on the way into Gorham NH. Wish we could've stopped to get a better look at it, but it was near the side of the highway and it wasn't in the cards. Never saw another one on that trip despite my best attempts by going on a lot of back roads in moosey territory.

In Michigan? I know that moose are more frequently spotted in the upper Midwest more than in years past.
