Busy day. Cut a load of wood. Made some venison salami for Thanksgiving appetizer this week. Cleaned the shop....a little. Went hunting in the cold and didn't see a daaammmmm thing. Drinking beers.

Man I should have skipped hunting this evening. I got out there and the wind picked up and started blowing a steady 25+ mph. Couple that with snow and temps that dropped to about thirty and it got miserable real quick. Temps are supposed to be in the teens tonight so I switched from shoulder season wood to some oak. The living room is a toasty 75 right now. :D

Riding the couch. Football game is muted and listening to Garage, Inc. on Spotify. Pizza slated for halftime...

Watching replay of yesterday's Iowa Michigan game, making fire starters and generally recuperating. Rough night last night, kept waking up with severe leg cramps. Just dropped about $400 on Xmas, now I'm having wallet cramps.

I hate those wallet cramps. I had one the other day that took me out for a while. And Christmas is coming! UGH. Heavy equipment is brutally expensive. BUT FUN!

I got some work done this morning. Dressed real warm and was still glad I had the cab on the Bobcat! Wind was/is nasty today. The temperatures were not too bad but the wind. OH MAN. So I cleaned that Maple all up and brought the bucked up wood to the processing place. Now I am in charge of the wee ones while wife and oldest daughter go to the mall to shop for a few hours. Glad I got the boiler all cleaned out good and the chimney done as well. That thing is humming nicely! Did I mention the wind? Damm!

First the ISU Cyclones take out the Michigan basketball team...then the Hawkeyes take out the Michigan football team. Boy Jack....looks like we know which state is better.... I just hope there aren't any guys from Michigan on this forum!

Built a small tin can gasifier today. Took it out back. Couldn't keep it lit with the constant breeze.

MMMMM looks way better than my cruddy looking dinner.

Kielbasa, ground beef, beer of course, pinto beans, Michigan white beans, Mrs Dash, black bean sauce, corn and tomato juice. I ran out of tomatoes somehow. O and can't forget the Sam Adams winter lager.

Pete, that is what I would call ice fishing grub. Make it in on a cookstove out on the ice. I think I would skip the corn and skillet fry some pieroges for a side. That would be good eatin'.

Jon it was literally an act of desperation I was desperately hungry and it was desperately asking to be made. :) I was trying to figure out what to do and after I threw it all on the counter it made some sense anyway. It did turn out pretty good to my surprise. If the wife likes it then I did it right:thumbs:

The old lady did a load of laundry last night, had her add a half cup of the lye water I made last week. My jeans seem to be significantly less stained today.

I always get more snow than anyone else! Thinking about adding some eggnog & rum to the shopping listing in honor of Gooblegeddon.

I took the week off work. It's 'use it or lose it' time as far as vacation goes. I put the winter tires on my car yesterday. I bought the car back in March, drove it in a couple snowstorms and came to the conclusion that Goodyear Fuel Max tires aren't worth a chit in the snow. I had the winter tires (Blizzaks) mounted in October on a set of steel wheels I got off fleabay. Drove it yesterday after a couple inches of snow fell and turned the roads into an ice rink and it's amazing how much better the traction is. Makes me wish I hadn't been farting around with all season tires for the past 22 years of my driving career. :)
