That’s what I heard from someone in Wisconsin too. You guys have got to get tired of snow at some point.

I'm ready for tons of sunshine and warm & hot temps! We're on about 2 months of one snow after the other with just a few days in between, I'm chomping at the bit for summer since last summer was so weird, we're not accustomed to all the gray days, and it's negatively affecting my husband's work week after week after week. Come on SUNSHINE :) You can do it!!

We haven't had it as bad as some of you, but I was just telling my wife we've used more propane since we shut down the wood stove two weeks ago, than we used all winter... we're missing the warmth of the fire. Heck it's even pushed the crappie spawn back by a few weeks, and it's going to be a cold Memorial Day weekend in the water.

That was quick - going from none to 3 years.

You could make some nice dough at $5 for 3 pieces of wood or $10 for a bundle of 5 :D

I really worry about some of the farmers here. Froze again. I bet there will be lots of beans replanted this year.

Morning all.. Got up and 5 got some bills done in the shop. Today going to bake a small cake for Barbara and working in house. Made some dough for the first time yesterday for pizza. That didnt go to bad except I overcooked the darn thing. The crust was hard as a rock. LOL. I did have a back up plan and will do better next time. Felt good yesterday to get a little mowing done after Barbara went to bed. I will plug away at the outside stuff. Barbara is older than me.. She had 3 suns,, one passed here with us with cancer in 2014,, one passed last year from drinking to much. The last one we dont hear from much but he did call his mom on mothers Day. Made her happy to hear from him. . On another note we will be getting out 2 covid shot this week. She was fine with the first one.. I sure didnt feel good for a day so Im not looking forward to it..:)

Down to a few pieces of trim, closet doors, and re-installing baseboard heaters on the bedroom project.

My planer died last night, which is more than a little frustrating when I have a few hundred more bft of stuff the plane down for bathroom cabinets. I guess I will just have to load everything up and go use my dad's planer and make a big run and plane down more than I think I'll need.

Oh they make plenty. Many of them now also have crop insurance so perhaps they are banking on that but it seems a poor way to go to me as they don't get much.

Back from Buffalo. Appts went well. Oncology took me off one of my calcium tablet. Ordered blood work and had results before we left. Calcium level is normal. Set up another scan for two months along with teleconference in Aug.
Pulmonary showed us original scan with the node and then put up the one from last week. You could really see the difference. It was about a third smaller.
So for the most part a good day.

I don't recall the correct term, might have been "crop sharing"?, husbands friend in east Colo was doing quite well without ever planting a crop.

The tick activity has really picked up. Holly had three this past week on her, I had two crawling on my arms. Holly had dense fur, so we can usually spot them before they settle in. Total so far. Lots of deer ticks.

I decided to go out back and mow down the edges of the walking areas. I just raked any small branches out and got the tractor in to cut down the small stuff. I'll get the MS170 out tomorrow and cut the brush back low.

This area to the left of the log will get mowed down too.

I contacted a local guy with a 3pt tiller to turn this all in, but he declined with the shallow roots. Bittersweet vines are soft now. I'll see what the rental place is priced for a day.

After nursing and exercising the leg off and on I’ve been able to slowly get back to getting some things done around house, then property. Have moved up to about 50% normal speed now. Was able to take the backhoe off the tractor today and put the three point hitch on and the landscape rake and finish off a couple small areas near house where I pulled those stumps out. My wife put the grass seed down this evening and lightly covered with hay. Being slow and cautious when I move.

Hope you hoarders have a good Spring!
