I inadvertenly went mudding on Monday. Pulled into where I wait for the bus, a large shoulder to a turn off on the road the bus stops that is fenced on the other side for a cattle pasture. It's sloped towards a drainage "ditch" not really a ditch but with the grading thats where the extra water flows from the heavy snow and some rain we've had. The ditch was running but I did not realize how soft the wet soil was, slid like a foot sideways towards the ditch :picard: Pressed the 4H button (wow do I love auto hubs!!), rocked a couple times (not easy in an automatic) and ended up hitting the gas. Threw mud chunks all the way on top of my pickup . I won't do that again :emb:

Kiddo's been sick at home a couple days (cold), today my pull off is more than 1/2 flooded, I just did a simple 10 pt turn to get into position for the bus   I'll continue that silly parking job til it dries out, could be next fall LOL

    Kiddo wants to say hi:

I'm getting quotes for a mini-split system. Since I'll be working from home until I retire in 8 years (assuming all goes well), I want something better than the window unit for my office and the portable unit for my living room (and pretty much shutting off the bedrooms).

Just got a quote for a Mitsubishi system and am waiting for another guy to come take a look in 10 days (don't know what he deals with). From the first guy's calculations, which took into consideration all the bay windows, there will be a 1ton unit in the living room and a 1/2 ton unit in the office (the electronics really heat up that room). Nice to see a quote that specifies a 2% discount for cash, plus the system quoted would qualify for a $600 rebate from my utility company.

I'm sure the guy that just quoted will be impressed with my getting wishy-washy this morning and requesting a second quote to add a unit to the basement. I don't need A/C down there but if my pellet stove goes down, then there is no heat and I've gotten used to having warm floors during the winter.

My parents had a system installed and they really like it. The heating side of it does a great job in the winter. No regrets. Having a back up source is good too.

Our Red Breasted Grosbeaks came back. I always like to see them and hear them too. Hummers will probably show up any time now.

Little bit of frost this morning.

Got final coat of paint on ceiling and first coat on walls in bedroom. Should be able to finish paint tonight, then I can finish up wiring and get ready to lay floor.

The x-rays of my hand and wrist shows I am getting arthritis from knuckle joint of thumb to wrist. The last couple of weeks been driving me nuts. I believe some of you use a topical med. Can ya let me know what works for you? I already sleep with a brace on.

I sleep with a brace on too. What does help in a topical is Voltaren. It is OTC now. Salon Paz lidocaine roll on offers some relief too. My arthritis doesn’t respond well anymore to topicals. You should get some relief for a good long time.

I saw the female grosbeak this morning and the male after lunch. They just arrived. Bad cell pic.

We love our new unit. I only have one for this space is but 1000 sq. ft. Works like a charm and easy on the electric bill. With stimulus money, rebates and discounts, I only have $100 out of pocket invested. All my quotes were coming in at $4000. Very quick install. I now know several folks who have them and not one of them regrets their investment.
