Smoke/CO detectors aren't shy about when they need their batteries replaced, always fun later on a Saturday night

I keep a CO detector on the mantle. Came home from work earlier this week to it going off, and for the first time ever it was reading CO in the house (other than when I brought it downstairs a week ago to get a reading when one went off, but it was remembered that an engines exhaust fired straight in the workshop door for a minute a while earlier)

I had lit a fire the night before, and apparently it didnt burn properly, because once I realized the source was the stove (after worrying that it might be a bad boiler) I saw that it has the remnants of three splits barely smoldering in the firebox. Must have reversed the draft at some point. First time its ever happened. The wood was smoldering so slowly that there wasnt any smoke smell to be found in the house to accompany the CO.

Not even close! I probably have 1/4 of a cord of the ash you and I processed last spring left, and I have just shy of a half cord of red oak in the shed. So I only burned about 2.25 cords so far this winter. I will burn off and on for the next month. Probably have fires Tues-Wed looking at the forecast, but we are warming up significantly after that.

Doc said to use a different night time eye ointment. I asked the Walgreens here and they ordered it for me (our Walgreens is the size of photo mat hut, weird). Well they either didn't or it indeed did not come in yet over a week later. He gave WWW the eye drops version of it instead. Holy cow it burned, and my eyes still feel weird today. Anyone else use Muro 128?

I had to use that for a while when my cornea got scratched. The drops during waking hours and the ointment when I slept. It has a lot of salt in it and it can burn.

That makes sense, salt in the eye........ Both my corneas are inflamed and damaged from severe dry eye, it stung so bad I was tearing like crazy for a long time, felt like I had a cold this morning. Anyway, now that you mention that I guess my corneas feel smooth, which is the other odd sensation as I have not felt that in a decade. Eeeeeks, I hope it's a bit better tonight!

I looked up the other ingredients too. They are, Ahem, interesting.

had a young man who does fence building come by to give me an estimate on my property. He and his brother are about 21, and have a pretty good operation going for two young men.

The cost of rebuilding my calf-weaning pasture and barn lot was higher than I anticipated, but he would deduct any clearing or other work I did.

Today I got the tractor out and pulled posts from three sections. Two areas around the barn will be replaced with wood. They are short enough to be a nuisance to try to stretch wire.

I need to get some cattle on the place before I get a review by the IRS. Way too long taking deductions without showing revenue.

Just a heads up, the Firestone Transforce tires are crap, the one in the picture has only 18,000 miles on it!
