Well... Today we are getting our first covid shots.. I thought long and hard about Barbara getting it. Talked to Barbs Dr at a appointment she had yesterday and she thinks its ok so hoping things go good. Got outside yesterday and cut a small tree that had a branch on my powerline. Being the pro woodsman that I am the tree I cut is stuck in some other trees.  Got to get the tractor out and pull it down. Only good thing is its not going to fall on my power line... I new I should had dropped some other trees first.. :picard: I do still need to get some gear for cutting. Hope you all have a good day.

That is a horrifying thing to happen. Yes, getting older is not for sissies. I hope you don’t have any lasting issues from the fall. It’s hard to admit we are getting older, slower and need more aids to get around. Take good care and use the walker more often. Stay safe, Larry.

Still having some pain from my fall on Monday. Limited use of my right arm without it screaming at me. Head is sore but I expected that after smashing sheet rock. Trying to be more careful with all my moving around. I need to get outside more now that the sun is high and the ice is gone

I'm sorry about the fall Larry. Getting outside and walking is my goal this year too after it warms up. Too bad I'll have to spray up with bug repellent til the 4th of July but I need to do it.

Sorry you are hurting, brother Larry. Im glad you didn't break anything besides sheetrock. Mud and tape will fix that up, you not so much. If you need to use the walker more, then please do it.
That's how my mom broke her leg the last time, had her walker in the kitchen, decided she could hold to the cabinets and walk around...didn't work too well.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

GRRRRR! I was a teachers aid then WSI & lifeguard for almost a decade. If I could get into pool water I'd be teaching her myself. Idk, guess that's what I'll have to do, if we go to the country club I can get in and out as needed instead of a full 35 minutes in the water at the city swim lessons and hope for not too much damage. Besides, I've watched for years, they don't even teach back floats correctly, they let the kids hold their head out of the water while supporting their back, duh, nobody and float on their back if they are holding their head up. I must have said a few thousand times while I was the one teaching a back float to kids (you put one hand on the back of the head for assurance) "head back, chin up, chin up to sky, I have you". Need to refresh myself on different strokes, as she's fine in water by herself now, but I was looking forward to her learning more strokes so she could follow the opportunity I had to do that as a summer/school break job like I did if she chooses. Heck, I even had a decent job a swimming pool construction (I worked in the retail store) during college. That, and it was a really ideal summer thing for us, swim lessons, then home, lunch, then reading. SMH

    Learn to Swim Level 3 - 116107
Level 3 expands on increasing proficient swimming skills with new stroke development and a strong focus on water safety survival. Breaststroke, back stroke, front crawl, rotary breathing are taught, as well as the introduction to survival strokes, elementary backstroke, treading water, survival floating, and safe headfirst entries into the water. New safety topics are introduced, as well as previous ones are reinforced. Upon completion of Level 3, swimmers are considered to have achieved basic water safety competency in a pool environment. For children ages 6 and older and must have successfully passed Level 2. This class may be repeated for skill refinement and reinforcement. Early registration and member discounts available. Registration opens May 1st and closes 8 days before the session begins, June 6th, July 2nd and July 25th respectively. If your child is waitlisted, we will only notify you if we are able to confirm enrollment. Payment will be required at that time and may not be subject to any discounts.

    **Anticipated Covid Protocols**
Unless you are contacted otherwise, the following protocols will be in place during swim lessons.
    * A short mandatory parent orientation video will be emailed to the email on file for your household the Thursday before class. Please watch it before lessons start.
    * To ensure social distancing, we require parents in the water with their children to help support and assist them, allowing instructors to teach from the pool deck.
    * If your child is sick, please do not come to lessons.
    * Please be prompt and make sure your child has time for a bathroom break before class begins.
    * Please plan to remain in the pool area during your child’s lesson. We are currently not allowing parents to leave children unsupervised during lessons.

We are continuing to maintain overall pool capacity restrictions – and have reserved a spot for each swimmer and one parent. If you would like to swim before or after your child’s swim lesson, please call to make a reservation, as well as purchase a day pass or check in with your membership.

I’m out on my lunch break admiring the many acres of trees on the property. As I’m following a long line of black locust, I spot a crooked Cherry so I move in to take a picture. Then I notice there’s an apple tree in the picture too! This area used to be all farmland going back to colonial times. On the other side of the hill there’s hundreds of feet of raspberry bushes I’ll have to revisit in a couple months. In late September/early October I’ll have to check out the apple tree too.

In my local news, a Beefalo that escaped the slaughterhouse and was on the run since August last year has been captured. Farmers worried about "buddy" coming onto their land late at night and breeding with their purebred cattle can rest easy.

Water temperature, the flavor of rheumatic disease I have mess up blood vessels, and add anything cool (cold is worse) is bad. Some blood vessels contract, they down right shut off in hands and feet, no oxygen to the tissue they feed. Super creepy, they turn pure white like a dead person. Everytime they turn white the tissue they feed (fingers and toes) gets a bit more damaged. Wait too long and it becomes painful. Without blood flow they do not warm back up either, you have to warm then up with an outside heat source. I'm not going to have a stove or electric blanket or space heater at the pool. Idk, sorry for all the complaining.

We have one city pool (the one I showed the rules on), and one "Country Club" with a pool that is outside but lets non members in for a swim for a small fee. That's all with the exception of some hotels that have a pool. LOL, I looked up one hotel my aunt and kiddo stay at when she comes to visit her and has a well taken care of pool. Nope, not paying $100 dollars for a room so I can take her back and forth 2 days to swim for a few hours. Pools at the university are supposedly open to public for certain times but they do swim tournaments and laps, so even cooler temps. Zero problems with chlorine, bromine, or salt water or the newer H2O2 sanitizers, it's the temp.

YES, you have to sit through the admitting line, then the paperwork and $40 copay to get to the labs draw. Extortion.
