Starting to see them here over the weekend.. Thankfully not horrendous yet and hopefully don’t become. It’s pretty dry so maybe.

Yup, can’t stand them. My ears ring enough without hearing those things.

My mom, who has passed, would always come up and spend night with windows open listening to her peepers.. sign of spring

I’ve been rearranging my wood yard lately as an ongoing process to tidy it up. My best guess was I had around 10 cords of wood cut, split and stacked. Today I actually went around and physically measured every single pile and came up with just under 13. It still doesn’t make me want to rest though  Now the push is to get my uncle stocked up, as I ended up bringing him quite a bit this past winter when he ran out. It’s a good feeling to know you have more than enough to carry you through, and even better to know you can help someone else along the way.

Twenty something years ago we didn’t see a Skeeter until the first week of July. Now we will be having them in about a month. We also get the daytime biters, which we only started getting about ten years ago. Something is changing.

Yeah the mosquatchers are evolving into the worlds least desired blood sucking buzzing insect alive. We have always had them at first warmup and day or night. Usually not too miserable during the day. Black flies on the other hand suck 24/7 for a few weeks and don’t take a deep breath or you’ll get your protein shot.

We get those little black gnats in May. They like flying into your eyes for some reason.

Looks like I'll have visitors today. Him, his sister and I lived 1/4 mile apart as kids. Should be a good day.

Had a bit of vertigo lately, thankfully only when I'm laying down. Last week I both sat up & put feet down to stand up while reaching for the alarm clock and ended up full weight on my pinkie toe. As of yesterday, a week later I can finally get a real shoe on that foot atleast til afternoon when the swelling comes back. This morning, I don't know, apparently leaning up on my elbow but almost met the floor again. No need for Mountain Dew for breakfast like the Dodge commercial above when you wake with a does of adrenaline.

Vertigo is nasty stuff. I hope it does not stay around.

Me too!! It's been a few years since I had it. I think it usually gets better with spring (humidity). I have never actually hurt myself or ended up on the floor before though   LOL, maybe I should put rubber padding below my side of the bed.

Mid day break here. Clearing the lane for the chipper delivery. Cleaned along the tree line, cut stumps low, raked up leaves and broken branches. Ready for the truck to bring it in.

Pile 1 and 2. Hoping pile 1 will get done, 2 can stay for now, but will reduce it.

    20210413_112309.jpg

Pile 2 and 3 by the barrel. 3 will go. Pulling it apart after lunch. This is the tick problem pile.

This area will get cleaned up. Low limbs cut, bittersweet vines removed and mulched with the mower. It is just a leafy area all summer. I'd like to plant some field grass or clover here. The rotten wood pile is just beyond it. No rest on this vacation. Tree guys are dropping 4 cherries next week, have to clear some saplings for that too.

Nice work fishingpol , it always makes the property look better when you take care of the branches or dead wood.

We're finally in for some rain starting tomorrow (afternoon I think) our local TV station out of Watertown NY has us getting 1.5 inches or over once it's done but some of the other weather sites have getting a 1 inch or less.

We've been pretty dry here this spring and with the NYS burn ban on, I haul ours to the town wood dump later on.
