I thought I heard one in the swamp yesterday afternoon. But, figured it really wasn't since there wasn't a flock and I didn't hear it again.

 

Sorry that you will be going thru this today and hope you were able to spend some special time with him - give him a few treats and talk some nonsense with him. May you find peace in you compassionate decision.

Thank you yooperdave. Should be a fun day. It is sunny and warming to close to 50 I believe. Very little wind. Good day to work out in the garage and yard to get all the winter fishing/spearing stuff organized and put away before our family party this evening.

 

Yeah, put that spearing stuff out of sight.....you know how wild your family parties can get!

 

This is the first time I have felt good on a weekend in about 3 weeks. I have a ton of work to try and fit in before mud season as a result. Looks like its going to get really warm this week, so I have a lot to do!

 

You have heard of, or have seen a few parties like that in the UP too huh?

That made me laugh because your line reminded me of a story from a college party at my cousin's rental house at Bemidji State. Our parties are far tamer in comparison, but your are right, you can't be too carful when spears are left lying around.

 

Walked out to the mail box this morning and noticed for the first time this spring all of the birds chirping away. Love to hear that sound. Lots of snow in the yard but it won't last long now.

 

Ok, while we know Badger's probably not going to miraculously heal overnight, he ate and drank today, he's wagging his tail, is retrieving, and running today. He just had a really bad day yesterday. We'll continue to monitor every day and go from there. So we cancelled today's appointment. Had he not eaten or drank water this am, I wouldn't be writing this. You can't put a dog down that is running and playing and retrieving and wagging his tail

Well so much for that. I changed the oil in my car, and while getting up off the ground, the sciatic nerve flared up again. Back on the couch hoping the Tylenol helps dull the pain.
