Older video, but this happens every year about 30 minutes south of me. This is just a small sample of what it can be like at the peak of the migration.

I can't remember the last time I had a beer. Every summer I say I'm going to have one, every fall I realize I didn't!

Got up to late 40s today and poured rain close to noon. A massive amount of snow gone.

A bit cooler but still above freezing next couple days, periods of rain Saturday they say. I guess I'll have to do a couple inside projects, I need to rip down a bunch of planks.

Sunday supposed to be cooler but drier Sunday, I think I'll be able to get started on my next project on the garage. Wooden siding.

First two you put in one pocket next two you can figure out last two put in the other pocket for tomorrow. That was some nasty green death. 6 pack was deadly, 40oz set you up good for a headache.

Sounds like Mickey's here in the Midwest.

That stuff would make you regret drinking the night before.

Had to call the cops on the weirdo neighbor across the cul de sac tonight. We're letting the nice neighbors dog out early evenings because he's busy with tax season and had to work extra hours Tuesday-thursday. The nice neighbors has the a hole on the other side of his driveway. Due to the circle road, a holes driveway is like 5 feet from our nice neighbors at the end. Yesterday my wife took out the neighbors dog, and he was acting weird to her yelling strange words at her hostile and aggressive and definitely weird. When she came home, I went out to see if he was outside, but he wasn't. Today I walked over at 4:30 to let the dog out, and he was shoveling snow. He let his 90 lb German Shepard go out of his yard into our neighbors drive where I was and he ran to me, barking at me pretty mean. I wasn't worried about his dog going after me, but I know it's schutzhund trained.
No issues with the dog, but he yelled at it to come back, and it did. Then he called me names and then my wife unmentionable things. That was what got me pizzed. This went on for a couple minutes. I told him off in a few words and told him that I know he's got a record. Which he does.

He got this house from him mom that was a weird a hole herself. She died this summer from ALS. She had aggravated assault on her record so she was a real gem.

Mind you, before this, my wife and I haven't looked at him ever. We ignore him. Then he starts this. So after I belittled him verbally after his failed attempts to do that to me, I called the cops on him.

He might have been arrested as that's what the cop said he would do unless the neighbor said he'd never cross paths with me or my family. He might have gotten a disorderly conduct ticket tonight to add to his DC collection he oled guilty to last June.

The cop was over at his house a long time. Then pulled out of his drive and parked in front of his house for several minutes. Assuming the officer was filling out paperwork, and didn't arrest him because there wasn't any police backup.

    So that was fun.

I need to snowblow tonight, once the snow stops. Because while it's 28° now, it will drop mega cold tomorrow. So hopefully Jack Assparagus doesn't try anything. I'll call the cops again if he does.

    TO KNOW AND BE KNOWN

What do we seek from our children? Sometimes, we seek validation from their achievements. It feels good to be the parent of the overachieving child. In the end, however, if we seek to be validated by their acts, we are seeking what is theirs. Instead, we should be seeking them. Our kids are not responsible for our well-being; we are responsible for theirs.

Think of your relationship to your heavenly Father. God does not need your performance; He wants only you. To be known by God despite our many faults and failings is our highest reward (see Matt 7:23). It is no different for our children. They long to be known by you for their own merit, not for their ability to perform. To model that kind of love for your children is to model the love of God for us.

Seek to "know" your children for who God made them to be.

    Scripture

Now I am ready to visit you for the third time, and I will not be a burden to you, because what I want is not your possessions but you. After all, children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
    2 Corinthians 12:14 NIV
