6 cylinder turbo in a 2020 Ford 150. Would you or wouldn't you buy 1? Wife got a company car. She wants to dump the new Jeep and my truck on newer truck for me. I know nothing about Ford, but found a nice looking 1. Going to look at a Trail Boss now.

Did he go to Rawlins or the i80 truck stop? I swear, that Mike's big city diner had the best chili releno's I've ever had, any where in the world.

Yes. Especially the 2.7 ecoboost v6. The 3.5 EB has a lot of power, but IMHO the other engines are better. You should check out the 5.0 coyote version of the f150. Both are great engines, much better than what they put in that trail boss. Plus, the interior of the F-150 is so much nicer than the what gm could manage.

Obviously, you need to buy what you need it to do. Don't you have a decent sized camper that you pull? If so, find a 5.0 coyote powered F-150. For v8's it's really probably the best engine in any brand.

I personally would go with the 5.0 k.i.s.s. For me the 2.7 would not even get considered.

good buddy had a new 3.5 for a year rolled it then got a 5.0. He said the 3.5 towed his 23 foot cuddy cabin boat better.

My 5.0 has 135k and I have done oil change, 1 set of tires and a water pump. I have an xl no extra doo dads. More gizmos = time in the shop and cost after warranty is up

Nope. I only considered trucks with V-8s while I was looking.

The reasons (for myself) were that I would be hauling trailers occasionally.

    1. Firewood (5X10 trailer) boat (16') are the only ones so far.

    2. Snow plowing.

    3. IMO, Only two types of turbos. Those that have failed and those that will. I hope for the best but plan for the worst and don't want to start a squirting contest about the reliability and longevity of turbos, I just fee that a forced induction system puts over amount of stress on engine and shortens the life.

Don't get me wrong, if the only thing I had bought a truck for was driving on highways, the turbo would be more than adequate. I test drove one truck thinking it was a v-8 and was surprised as to the amount of "kick" it had! Asked the dealer about it and he said, yeah, those twin turbos are something. Hows it for plowing snow? Get the V8 he said.

Bit nippy today. About 22f with a wind chill that feels like 9.. Was in the teens this morning on our trip to drug store. Should have had a v-8.

I’ve been working my way through log piles dumped over the summer. Went out this morning with the 261 and 462 and cut up several days worth of splitting and stacking. There was a few big white oak crotches I wanted to noodle down into manageable chunks. I’m almost through the biggest fork and f*#k I hit something. No metal stains anywhere, so it must be rock. Absolutely hammered the chain on the 462 and ended my cutting. It’s against my religion to put up a rocked saw, so I pulled out the recently purchased antique jumbo file and commenced to making metal dust.

Oh dat nice! Love the dump flatbed. You buy it and lend it to a few of us hoarders for further breaking it in for you. Let you know how it works and all. No Stinny , I didn’t say just breaking it. Your turn would have to come after mine!
