It’s funny but lew is like holy chit all out gang war zone, cross the River into auburn it’s a whole new world. Does not help Lewiston when they started bringing foreigners in, they let that get out of control and there’s constant bloodshed.

Right he said the Somalians were savage. His roommate was beaten with a pipe walking back to the dorm after a party.

You got me beat mine was a 2000 Mach Z. Sold that in like 08. Have a 97 Indy 500 for ice fishing and beating around here. I don’t have that much interest in riding anymore. It got really expensive and that ruined it. I’m from caribou area and still have family there I can stay with but that’s another pain. Around here if it’s good it’s good if not we have to travel.

My pond iced over, then melted again, then repeated. Its now got a slush layer, which will likely be ice again by the end of the weekend. Not gonna be a good year for ice sports.

The Bronco is back up and running. Truck prices are full crazy these days, so I am going to wait a bit before buying. Hopefully it will be a bit better in the spring.

You'd think that dealers would be busy with all of the repairs and parts for the used sled market. The used sled market around here is insane. A lot of used sleds are going for twice the amount that they are normally, or what kbb says they are worth. Granted, many people that buy used sleds will buy used replacement parts where possible, but there's some things where you typically wouldn't use used parts.

Our local Yamaha dealer usually has a whole side lot of used, and ex demo sleds for sale. There's no used sleds at all there. All sold. There's 2 sleds on site out of crates, so those are probably new non current or demo sleds. This dealer always has the Yamaha factory demo tour sleds for sale after season. They must have a deal with Yamaha snowmobile test center that's in northern Wisconsin.

I also know that new sled sales have been very good this year, probably better than the last several years combined. That's despite it not being a great snow season so far in this state.

Most areas in our state, even well up north, the trails are closed and have been for closing in on 2 weeks. It's horrible for the economy up in the Northwoods, as they rely on snowmobile season.

Used market is awesome. Sleds are sold the minute they hit the lots. New sleds, what’s in stock, are mostly spoken for. Dealer that normally has 150 units has maybe a dozen right now. Everyone is in that situation. There are no more to be had. Got some 2022 machines coming in the next couple weeks but very few and that’s the end. No dealer swaps happening to speak of. Demos are a factory deal. All manufacturers have demos. They use them and sell after a set demo period at a big discount. The manufacturer gives them a big kickback to offset the price. I’ve never seen so many “toys” sold in a year as the past 10 months. All dealers broke sales records and have sold most of this year’s stock before it’s even built. One dealer said his Sea Doo order was cut from 80 to 50 to now 32. Normally they sell over 100 in a season. Can’t make them fast enough. Off road stuff is trickling in but no big numbers and they are all sold. The spider market is weaker and they can get them in limited quantities easily enough here but bike sales are soft here these days anyway and those are a special market. We don’t have much of a market for yamacats here all SkiDoo and Polaris. Ski Doo is number 1 by far. Basically the biggest problem is people went crazy buying everything they could and now the market is suffering. If this continues through 2021 a lot of dealers will be out of business. The ups and downs are getting too drastic. They depend on service and parts but need the sales to keep those going. No inventory equals no sales. No snow equals no riding and breaking stuff equals no parts and service.
The dealer in Fort Kent said someone just drove from Vermont to buy a machine he had. Said that was the closest one he could find. 11 hour drive to get it. That’s insane.

I mean that this dealer, and pretty much only this dealer as far as I can tell, gets all the factory demo sleds from Yamaha. Of all the brands, only Yamaha are around every year at the one event I would attend, well at least prior to them teaming up with Cat.
They all have demo tours, but none of the other brands have any test or manufacturing facilities here in this state like Yamaha. This dealer has been the #1 Yamaha dealer in the date for years, so that probably has something to deal with this particular dealers arrangement. I know of people from all over the country buying new sleds from this dealer due to the pricing.

Our closest other powersports shop that has Polaris full line, skidoo/ seadoo/ bombardier, Honda and Kawasaki is expanding and getting a new much larger building sure to demand and sales. They seem to be doing well. It was a pretty large store to begin with. Their sister store about 20 miles away sells Suzuki and Yamaha ( no Kawasaki or Honda) in addition to the bombardier and Polaris lines was already a big shop, but made after their first store in my town.

We are in the same situation. Way north is frozen but how safe? Moosehead they say will skim this weekend but I know too many people that have polar plunged unexpectedly. I don’t trust that lake outside the coves.

I don't recall any recent drownings on it. Back along, some snow sleds went in. The noise is the tide going in and out. Makes it tricky along the shoreline. Some years, the ice is wicked thick, then in other places, paper thin. I get my smelt at the market. I don't like being cold and I'm not a drinker. When the smelt run good, you can always pick up a mess of them and the guys are glad to sell them. win win.

I'm in Chelsea, but only 3.5 miles to the State Capitol building. I'm in a wooded area off the River Road. Haven't minded it most of the time. Convenient to most anything I need. Grandkids went to Cony or Gardiner. All are doing very well. No drug or crime issues with any of them. But I know others are not so fortunate. There are a couple area like sand hill where there is always trouble.

We lived on davenport street.. I think most of the problem was younger people moving in with partying and fights along with some stealing. Im not saying all young people are bad. We like having some room here. I do miss walking down to trycity auto parts when I needed something.
