It helps with patience. The whole stairwell and halls were purple. 1 coat of primer and two coats of wall paint. Same for trim.

That hit here about 12:30-1:00 this afternoon...half of it melted, but the temp dropped and there is still a white frosty coating on everything now...

Awwww didn't you like the purple paint and wild runner. It has so much character! Nice job on the redo.

Which one is the old one? I like purple flowers, but that is the extend of it. I prefer a more peaceful coloring.

You're lucky they didn't paint the balusters purple as well! Your redo is much more serene.

The first picture is the before with the purple paint. We are using simple colors now.

All this talk about painting. Not my favorite job. However I need to paint our ceiling in the stove room. I already bought a special drip catching roller, and the extendable pole to put the roller head on.

Afaik, there's special ceiling paints that don't drip as easily.

    Any tips?

Drop cloths and cover one section at a time. Roll smoothly and not quickly. We use Ben Moore ceiling white, not drip proof, but looks great.

I do like to paint. I break it down to one wall at a time and not look at the overall job.

I have used the ceiling paint that comes in a colour but dries white. It helps to see where you have or have not painted. I tend to get a ladder and use a short roller but my ceilings are only 7 1/2 ft. high.

As has been mentioned, if you have a roller cover, and just do a section at a time (over drop cloth) take your time and don't get sloppy, you won't have drips. And if you are putting white over white, that color changing additive is the shizznit

Just don't use it in areas where there is high humidity. I once used it in the bathroom and the ceiling over the shower would turn purple for a while, then back to white. It did this repeatedly.

That's great paint. When you use Ben Moore, think about your friend down here in GA. I probably processed some of the pigment in that paint...

Delivered a car load of wood and forgot to take a picture  scored a nice hardwood pallet yesterday, a couple softwood the day before, and a few days back a 2x4x4 of a species I couldn't identify but it's HARD. That'll be warm. :campfire:

One mote reason I don't like the city, there's almost a foot of snow down in there. Out my way, not even really enough to shovel.

BECAUSE after 12 years we will have a matching set!!:heidi:
