Still no power at my house. I can’t remember being out of power for this long. Went for a drive and saw a bunch of utility trucks and a mile down the road has power. The Virginia Pines topple like dominos in 30-50mph winds and they are all along utility right of ways.

You'll need more weight than that. Heck, you could take the route some do and load it with snow!

Reading about the power outages surely makes me happy we put in the generator that is now fully automatic. Power goes off; gen comes on. Power comes back on; gen turns off. Sweet.

I remember a couple years ago laying in hospital and near death. Thought about my wife and decided the generator really made sense so she could handle it. Besides, we are no longer spring chickens and getting around is not as easy as it once was.

That's what I'm thinking too Dennis. I don't like having weight in the truck in the first place. I'll see just how it drives with this little bit and then maybe put another layer down. In past years (without a plow attached to trucks) I have not added weight. Only once before have I added weight.....that was on a 2WD I had in the 80's.

I also bought one of those vinyl roll up covers (lifetime guarantee) that will keep snow out of the box! Those years of shoveling out the back end of the truck are done! :handshake:

I will be glad once the time change gets back to standard time. These morning walks in the dark are for the birds!

Okay this is the error message we are getting rather regularly on FHC website. As well we can get a very distorted page with everything out of alignment or the wrong size. Anyone else getting this. I get it on Win 10 and campinspecter gets it on Win 7. No other website does this.

I got that huge web page return several times yesterday or the day before. Also several timeouts. But everything was fine again the next day.

Power was restored last night, but still no cable and internet. Should get a lot done this weekend if there is no tv and wormhole distractions. Might get that pine from a spring storm cleaned up, and the neighbors red maple that is now in my yard.

Ah! One of those "shin knockers" !!! I bet it works great as the weight is as far rearward as possible. I should have mentioned that the truck I'm using is a silverado 1500 LT. I think if I hung weight like that off the back end, my next thread may be titled "Need rear springs for chevy"

I do like the truck, but it is more of a concrete queen than any other 4WD I have owned.....:handshake:

I just ordered a new desk stool too (drafting stool). Cheap plastic vinyl wore off on the edges, and the padding is gone, basically sitting on the melamine seat base.

Stove install did not happen today. The company cancelled due to snow. We are on for Monday morning. I picked up a rear heat shield that puts me well within code.

The Jotul dealer had some empty floor space in his shop and there were no Jotul woodstove. The factory was several weeks behind in production and they sold their floor models. Tough time of year to not have them in stock.

We ended up with a few inches of snow today, and should see melting this weekend. I believe the full moon is tomorrow night. I did get some nice pics out back tonight. Cold and quiet. Wintah...

Just small projects planned this weekend. Maybe get some bird seed and a new feeder. Get the last of the leaves picked up. That time of year.

I put the boat in storage this evening. It was a great boating season.

I happen to store my boat about a mile away from a cheese factory that happens to make the best fresh cheese curds on Fridays. So I planned this so that while it's a bittersweet day to put the boat away, at least I got fresh curds.

    I also carved a jack-o'-lantern tonight.
