Picking two turkey carcasses apart and turning them into stock. The in-laws even left some meat on the bones. I must have been good this year. I am thinking turkey stew today.

I have some Pennsylvania Dutch noodles. Homemade noodles sounds good.

Good morning, a cool 25 and overcast. "On Call" today 'til 1pm, for CAT Scans/MRI, so I can't do much. Really, the most inconvenient part is I have to be in my my monkey suit (scrubs) and they don't want me smelling like 2 cycle exhaust,,,imagine that.
You folks have a good one today and be safe. Peace.

^^Yeah, they don't get it. I used to be able and pull on a lab coat and get busy with it, but I keep the oiler turned up full tilt on my saws and and generally look like I just came from a scrap yard!! If I'm wearing "clean casual clothes in a state of good repair and well groomed" I don't need the monkey suit.

Tough to find those anymore. I am holding on to a very old cookie sheet that is 1/4 inch thick. Love that thing and use it for everything.

Hurray! FedEx just showed up with my kitchen faucet. Plumber will be here sometime today, then I can have that wild turkey breast tomorrow!:ups:
I am planning on either roasting it under a blanket of bacon at 250 f for a few hours, or putting it in the crockpot with taters, carrots, celery, etc for 6 hours.
Anybody ever cook wild turkey breast (no skin)?

As much as I love bacon and wanted to say DO THE BACON IN THE OVEN THINGY, I would think the crockpot version would make that meat nice and tender and juicy. With some seasoning and those taters, carrots, and celery.

Going to friends' house for Thanksgiving leftovers today. Somehow it seems ironic, redundant, or whatever the right word is.

I offered to bring over some nice dry firewood as well. :)
They have a fireplace, but don't use it much.

Right where I want to be.
Only had one plate of food yesterday (it was pretty full though), and no pie, even though I made 4 punkins.
Something wrong with that. I eat punkin pie for breakfast if it's here. I don't know how that happened.
Anyway, just chillin' today after yesterday's festivities.
Might make another pie or 2, since we left all 4 at the party.:loco: :headbang::faint:

Yes, because you did not have a piece of pie or two on Thanksgiving day, you will need at least two pieces of pie with whipped cream or ice cream over this weekend. Dems the rules for Thanksgiving Dave.

Now there you go. A fire inside to enjoy and friends/family to visit with. I made a bonfire outside at my house yesterday just before the company came. That way if things got crowded and people wanted to step outside they could go out by the fire. My son, me, and a couple of brothers took advantage of it a couple of times. :fire:
