Well the beast and roasted vegies was good, not so sure about the burned finger tips from rolling the krumkake. I'm currently cooling them down holding a cold bottle of Angry Orchard Cinnful Apple Cider and having a sip or two.

I have some wild turkey breast in the freezer, I was going to have it for Thanksgiving, but I am still waiting on a plumbing part before I can do any serious cooking. My T day will be this weekend, hopefully.:(
My plan is to cook it low and slow after brining it for a few hours. Never had wild turkey breast; only had wild geese and ducks.:MM:

The snow here seems to be less than what was predicted, which is good. My wife is working a balloon at the Macys parade tomorrow morning. I hope she has fun, being in that parade has been her dream for a long time. I get to take the kids to go see it. We have tickets for the bleachers on Central Park South, but seating isn't guaranteed. Time will tell how that one works out.

The metal baking sheet just warped in the oven and dumped the pumpkin pie :headbang::hair:

It has made quite a mess and smoked up the house. Now its time to running the cleaning cycle, so we can continue cooking in the morning. Someone out there has to make a decent baking sheet that does not warp as much in the oven.

I know what you mean. You could probably make a thicker one with several layers of the Reynolds wrap aluminum foil in your cupboard than most of the sheets they sell today. :picard:

Made it to and from work with no problems. The highways (83, 695, 70 and 29) were all good. Even the back roads by me weren't to bad.

Interesting some large retailers will be open tomorrow. When I worked retail I always had to work Christmas Eve, when my family celebrates, I missed several years..... Being open on Thanksgiving is news to me though. Hmm.

Put the sheet on the rack below instead of directly under what you're cooking.

Happy Thanksgiving folks. Measured 14" on the deck this morning and it's still coming! Love it! Giz is havin' a ball rottiman lookin' for the birds. jetjr... Maine's got around 80,000 without power this morning... a lot down near the coast I guess. We've been lucky so far. Hope you don't have to head out... you on call, or are you guys always on call?
Town still hasn't plowed yet. That's a first. We joked last year they'd drag iron on 1/2". Guessing mechanical problems...

Today will consist of family time of course. All of my family (parents, brothers and sisters, and their kids and grand kids, anywhere from 35-45) will get together at my house for brunch at 10. Too much food to list. Then many of us will take a walk in the woods.

After all the company goes home and we get things cleaned up, it will then be time to go out in the woods and cut some wood for at least three hours. I always try to get outside, get some fresh air, and cut some wood on Thanksgiving Day.

Then my immediate family and some of my wife's family that live here will have T-Dinner at about 5:30 or so. To much food to list.

    Family, food, and cutting firewood.

What more could you ask for in a day!

    Happy Thanksgiving friends!
