I had read about that storm moving east. Looked bad coming across Lake MI too but it really broke up fast once into MI. We got nothing from it but it did clean up the air nicely.

That's a big cleanup job. Will they keep any of the wood?

Thats a good question. He said that out of about 155 trees only about 15 will survive. He does burn wood in the winter but only because the previous owner had a wood stove and left a big stack of wood. But with all the clean he may just say screw it.

    Got to 90ºF again today.
Milestone of running a mile out of my daily after supper 3.5 mile walk/run routine.
Had to take a year off from running because of a knee and I've been working a little bit of running slowly into the walking routine.

My neighbor and friend took apart the mechanicals to my backhoe release and attach system for me today. Cleaned and lubricated them and put them back together. Welded broken lever back on. All while I was at the enjoyment center. All set to go. I’m psyched! I thanked him through a text as he was gone for the day. Going over to pay him in the morning. Then go have some fun, I mean:whistle:, get some work done with the L48!

Hot and humid here today as well. I did a short walk/run. Early tomorrow morning my son and I will walk/run a longer stretch while it’s cooler.

Good job on the routine billb3! Every time I go I feel good when I’m done.

E for what? Eric? If I see an R tomorrow I think I’ll take a break from the hoarding for a few days LOL

Got a video from my son yesterday. Stated his ins. Agent told him to keep track of their hours on clean up. So far he has 74 hours put on. Had about 8 friends show up to help. Know he has more friends show up his morning. He does have a generator running for the fridge and using it as a charging station for phones.
One tree at the side of the house, he said took 8 hours. I imagine the girls are dragging branches and stacking the wood. My son even went out and bought chaps. Don't know if my son is the only one who has a saw or not. I know his dad doesn't and he was there helping. So they are getting there. He did send a video of a drive they took around town. A lot has damage, stated all the big tree's were either down or topped.

Bug cavity. Just a really funny coincidence that I was able to split it right down the middle of the cavity.

Was a beautiful morning here. All except for my wife who lost a lense from her glasses. Has appointment with eye doc but now I'm forced to drive. This will be the first time I've driven since surgery.

Went for a walk/run with my son this morning. Then breakfast and a shower. Then up to pay my neighbor/friend for work he did for me. Great guy!

Then it was off to install a 10” culvert under the trail I built around the back of the pond. I need to build the trail up a little higher in a few places. And I want the water to be able to pass through from the swamp behind the trail to the pond. I think I am eventually going to install another 12” culvert at another location on same trail that I think will sit level. This way pond and swamp will only get to a certain height and then drain out into the other. ? Not 100% sure on that yet. I also have a drainage ditch that is lower than both that I could put a culvert to off the pond. That sends the water to the back of the property and off into the creek at the back of property. Which then runs it out to the St. Lawrence River.

I'm sorry! Our insurance also reimbursed us for come cleaning and the company I hired to get all the ashes out of our house after the wildfire.
