75 and sunny, no humidity. Stuck inside working. Supposed to get down to 50 tonight, which is unheard of for this time of year.
Tropical storm starting to bear down on us. Earlier today I cleaned out the carburetor on my generator and replaced the pull start rope. Ready to go if I need it. Plenty of extra gas and fuel for the saws I’m watching the wind whip through all the giant oak trees around me. Already heard a couple large limbs fall with a crash.
I spent all day on phone with attorneys, zoning administrators and real estate agents. Crazy questions about a certificate of occupancy on 150 year old house
Luckily just a pile of scraps from the old deck I just demolished. Trees are down everywhere in my area.
Everybody here in Florida was so worried about that storm and it was a no show. Since then it has been very destructive going up the coast and into New England. It has taken from many but the hoarders will be given a lot.
Just getting here now but looks like the worse of it may head to the west part of the state. I guess we will see. The well does need some help but..
Yeah, we all hate fires Despite being in a tornado warning yesterday, and having several bands of rain come thru, my final tally for rain was 1/4". I was hoping to be on the west side of the hurricane remnants and get some real precipitation as they were prognosticating the night before. Since the 4" my yard got at the end June my area has gotten 1/4" of rain per week (and that 4" of rain was well needed since there had been no rain for 4-6 weeks). Means I have to water the gardens nearly every dang day. I hand water so cant really give the gardens a good drink once or twice a week. I can hardly wait to see my water and sewer bill for the quarter since they base the sewer on what your water usage is. At least it was nice and cool for the day - in the mid 70's. Meant I could turn of the air conditioners and open the windows. Today it will be in the 90's so the A/C's will be back on.
