    Yeah, he'd better not.

He likes shredding the sweet potato plant just beyond the chairs. If you look closely you'll see a mostly empty peanut butter jar from the little t.

I went to use my generator last week and it wouldn't start and was backfireing out of the carb. The push rod has slipped off before. So I pull valve cover to look sure enough it's off, and bent to all heck. I couldn't get the thing to open when I put the rod back on (I ordered a set of push rods, they were starting to bend when I turned it over). I figure the valve was stuck or can lobe was wiped. But I cut it off working so I doubted the later. Pull the head can't open the exhaust valve. Do some googling and after I figure it looked weird I figured out the valve guide slipped out of the head and wouldn't allow the spring to compress. Some say you can press back in but that doesn't last once it heats up again it will work out again. Some had fixes but the consensus was the only fix was a new head. A new head is about $160. It came with everything. I'm cheap though and I just bought new pushrods. So I don't need them. I found a new takeoff. Looks like someone parting engines for money over selling whole engines. Part was installed but visibly unused. I got it for $80. I had to buy a head gasket for another $15. I need an exhaust gasket but used the torn up old one I had. I need to order a new one though. If I had bought the kit everything would of come but I'm still cheaper than that.

I didn't even need to fix it, I have another newer generator the same size but just over $100 for a 5500kw genney is too cheap to throw it away. And I don't want a half taken apart generator laying around rusting. So I fixed it. Plus it's good to have backups out here in the country.

I had never messed with a governor before. When I put it all back together it pegged and ran wide open. Found Terryls video on YouTube about adjusting a governor and had it fixed in a few minutes after a few tries. (That guy has a video on everything that ever stumps me on a small engine or mower). I had that same thing happen to a single cylinder mtd mower with a 16 hp Briggs on it. The valve wouldn't seat because of that. Ended up buying a used head for $40. A couple years later while mowing, the transaxle went on that mower and that was that.

    A bug, 2 Slugs, and 3 Geese

These odd critters just "showed up" today.
    A Bug. A beetle bug.

Two Slugs, possibly in some silent, slimy race.

3 Geese. Just walking down the road. Americans, obviously.

I don't know what to make of these events. Perhaps it's obvious to someone else.
Perhaps I should host the Geese to cut down on the bugs and slugs? I don't know.
