The heart of the storm is making my place a direct bullseye by approximately 12 noon tomorrow. Local forecast a couple hours ago includes 1 to 5 inches of rain. 50 mph winds and a possibility of tornado activity. Hope they are wrong. I just got the yard looking top notch and stick free. Figures. We shall see.

After the rain and wind the next couple of days the temps should drop down into the low 70's for daytime highs. I am planning on getting more splitting done while it is cool:axe::stacker:

Of course, it's hot and sunny during the week, then the weekend comes and it's cooler and not even 70 and not really sunny. Good for some things, bad for others.

Slush snow falling, sticking on foliage, I see the flame of the pellet stove reflecting in the window I sit next to, still a comforting sight though it's June.

There is a difference between scheduled 3rd shift and "surprise 3rd shift" :startled:...which is the only way I have ever had to work 3rd :hair:

I know, I've had those before too. As an calciner operator and foreman, you don't leave until your relief guy gets there...
Hope you have gotten some better sleep since then.

Looks like that storm may be moved a bit further west than originally thought. But my bet is when it gets up north a bit further then it will turn to the east and then we'll get what is left. Some rain won't hurt us as our strawberries can use it right now but we don't want to measure more than an inch. We have way too much standing water now.

On the good news, the mosquito patrol came through last night so we should have fewer skeeters to slap now.

The wind just took out both of my hawthorn trees at the end of the driveway.
