Good morning, a bright 20-something here and just finishing some coffee.
Gonna' slide out of doors and take care of some chores.
Mandatory meeting at the workhouse today at 2pm, 52 people got laid off/fired yesterday, all dept., hospital wide. Bosswoman indicated she would like to bring me out of my "semi-retired" position,,I guess I'll take the position if/when it's available.
Off to the woodshed with me,,Peace.

Good luck GD. Hope everyone laid off there lands on their feet. I really really hate hearing this stuff.

Over the years, I have "lost" two good jobs due to downsizing/economy. Bottom line reason is "it business".
Empty promises were made-no, they were just outright lies, and then you find yourself with time on your hands and an "adjusted" income. Both were unexpected and a total surprise. One was a week before Christmas and involved over 100 positions.
You ask yourself what could have been done differently and the answer seems to be "nothing". It's just the way business operates.
Looking back on other lives, it seems that there is usually something like this that happens to everyone.

Well I didn't really NEED to plow because we only got about 4 inches or so over two days, but I just HAD to try it out! These Minute Mount 2s are pretty nice. Easy on and off. Lot nicer than the old plows I use to plow with on pickups!

Right where I want to be.
Mom's Honda Element more than likely needs a new starter soon.
Starters are a simple couple bolt changeout.....right?
No, not on this wonder of engineering.
The intake manifold and all attending parts needs to be REMOVED first. Wait, ....WTH?
I guess they thought their starters would be "lifetime". They were wrong.

This should be the case for ANY engineer and don't let 'em know how long they'll be in the trenches either.
    End rant here too.

Rarely stranded in my old blazer, hubby looked at and usually fixed it on the spot. My newer truck, his eyes cross when he looks under the hood.

2005 Duramax. It was actually his new truck, but god granted us a baby, the blazer did not have air bags or adequate seatbelts for a child car seat:rofl:  I initially moved into the f250 but the clutch and stick shift became too hard, so I ended up with it:thumbs::p

My first truck was a 77' GMC jimmy, looked very similar to yours. They are great oversized SUVs for their day

I've heard of women getting pregnant to get married...but to get a truck?!? LOL.

I'm a true blue Ford man, but I have good memories of the old Jimmy we had for a while as a kid....until the engine blew.
