So was a female cardinal, no wonder. They are more brown than red. Had a male an female "kissing" on front pouch railing this morning.
So far another amazing day here. Some clouds are starting to move in from the south but the sun is still shinning good. We're at 70 now; 72 forecast. Looks like summer will hit us Sunday and Monday for sure. That 85 they predicted just got moved back to next Monday. That should bring on some sunburns for sure!
Took my wife out to pick up bird seed and some milk. I was simply amazed. I've seen some heavy traffic on Holiday weekend before but in all my years here I have never witnessed the amount of traffic I saw this morning. It was amazing. Just pulling up to a 4 way stop reminded me of being in a big city with all the cars and trucks lined up. In one area going into Chesaning, we could see bumper to bumper traffic for nearly 2 miles! I've never seen this before. I thought perhaps an accident but not so. Was the same way when we came back that way.
What about rain? We will be in the 80s starting Sun. for at least the next 6 days, but rain is predicted 9 out of 10 days in the forecast. No gardening. I am researching Growing Rice. A little chilly last night. Set the last fire 0of the year. Burnt up the few splits I had up at the house. Easier to put them in the stove versus taking them back to the stacks.
I just used a word in post on a question in a local bird group here that I did not realize I knew. I posted it then had to go back and google to make sure it was the correct word. Eric VW would be proud!! (and yes, spelled correctly too).
