How are things out west there W.W.? Is campinspecter around much this time of year or is he out getting firewood most of the time? And what kind of fuel have you been baking him? Getting colder out there so he may need more sweets when outside! Gotta stay warm. Right camp?

Ah. Just South and West of us they received up to 6 inches the other day. Glad it is holding off around here for a bit more to tell you the truth. This is the perfect time of year, with the top of the ground freezing, to go out with the tractor and do some work on the trail. I have a few sections I am going to try to work on this weekend. Low spots that I will dig some dirt out of both sides with the hoe and put it on the trail and level it all out. Then shape and grade everything off as best I can. I gotta get those low spots built up before spring so then the grass and weeds can grow in quick and get things strengthened up.

But first I must move the rest of the firewood in under the porch. That will be Saturday morning no matter what!

Come on 2:00! This girl needs a beer! Maybe even a few shots! It's been a long week, I've earned it :)

Quick after work scrounge of large sugar maple rounds next to my parents house. My friend got about six near this size. He had his new Fiskars x27 with a 36" handle in his truck, and I was able to hit a crack and split the big one. His rounds required us both to lift them. The x-27 bounced off the other ones. I will make some cuts with the saw across the top and wedge these apart tomorrow. Good way to start the weekend.

The rounds were back 10 feet from the street on a front lawn with a "do not take" sign tacked on them. Yep, someone took half the pile. I can't stand thieves, trespassers and especially wood poachers.

Doing some cold weather grilling tonight. Steaks aren't as good made indoors.

Some people. If a pickup load of wood was the difference between freezing and not... I'd give them three if they asked and think no less of them. If they stole they'd be worthless garbage in my book...and I'd take all the wood back...with interest.

Good luck hunting guys! Keep us posted.

Time for me to start moving the rest of the wood under the porch. As soon as I finish getting my caffeine in me. Then, I hope, I can get out and work on the path with the Bota.

My nephew bought an old farmhouse and I am helping him remodel it. Those old houses sure are a challenge! I hope we are working inside today.:shiver:

    Heeeeeeeey everyboooooooddddddyyyy!

I feel like I missed a month. Ive been away the last couple weeks 'cause we just had a big week long planning summit at work that kept me busy 10+ hours a day for the last 2-3 weeks.

Finally coming up for air, and I had a nice present waiting for me yesterday.

    So whats new??
