Disclaimer- not bragging about our weather...:D

    75° and sunny. :)
Rain quit a few days ago, ground is already cracked in some places.
Lower back is way better, but still not able to do heavy chores/firewooding. That day will come tho.

Went to work for a few hours and got back to burn brush. The pile at the downed red pines got reduced a bit. The burn pile wasn't big, but it took care of a lot of brush and vines. I'm almost into the section of multiflora roses, so that will be fun.

OK, I got some good news this morning. Called Home Depot customer care once more and was informed by them that the 30 day price match is for appliances. Everything else is a 90 day price match policy.

Called the store once again and told them what HQ said, they said don't worry about it, we'll make it good no matter what it takes! The guy sounded a little peeved and asked "how much are we talking about here, anyway?"

    $50.

Oh. We'll make it good if I have to take it out of my own wallet.

    (yeah, right)

We have a local chain that does home delivery. Its probably 10% more at least. The soonest delivery I could get was two weeks out. I think they fill from the DC, so they have far better stocks than the stores. I used Walmart curb side for groceries a few days ago. Not a lot of meats, but it was good for dairy and produce, and only a two day backlog.

Walmart and our 2 grocery stores here quit curbside pickup over a week ago. They are overwhelmed and 1/2 the shelves are empty anyway. And Horkn

Today would've been my Dad's 76th birthday. I typically go and buy a few Guinness beers and have them in his honor.

Well, I've got no Guinness and I'm not going to make a special trip for that. I did just finish a bloody Mary that my wife made for me after I took Badger out for some excercise . I have a lot of Point Special Lager though. Dad liked point special, and my bloody Mary's.

I think he'd be just fine with that.:handshake:

This March has been rough for my family. I may drink a few more than I typically would tonight.

I ordered the electric clippers from Target. Amazon was out for a month.

I'm getting due for a trim soon. With haircuts not being deemed essential business, I think we're going to have some bad haircuts coming up.

My wife's never cut anyone's hair. A lot of mine is a 1/2" clipper cut, but the stylists always have to use a scissors to cut the front top part of my hair. That could be tricky.

Maybe we need a "bad home haircuts" thread?

    Could get really ugly

Word is out that schools in MI will not be open for the rest of the school year. Kids will probably be happy; parents not so much.

Then there is the case of a stupid governor which we have one (NO. PLEASE DON'T TURN THIS INTO A POLITICAL THREAD AS THAT IS NOT MY INTENTION HERE.)

It seems that most states and nations are getting good results with the new medicines for fighting this new virus, including here in MI. But our governor has sent out threatening letters to doctors and pharmacists, etc warning them not to use them any more. Here is the article written by the Detroit News:

Opinion: Michigan’s doctors fight coronavirus, and governor's office

I know the Drug Administration has not had time for it's normal testing but with such serious stuff going on and if it is proving to be helping others, why not?

On the happy side, my wife and I received a happy phone call from a good friend in a different country this morning. Found that they are all good and well and their country is not as bad as ours for the virus. It's always good to hear good news! Especially now.

Other than that, we're wet and now waiting for the big blow again. Winds up to 45 mph for here and stronger for many near us. Probably more power outages and even the electric company has sent out warnings about possible power outages. We just had one a few days ago...

I've been on that medicine for 10 years, and have been prescribed zpacs a few different times. This drug is an oldie and goodie, reliable and safe track record. I don't understand her concern. Then again I don't know what dosage they are using either, but she leaves me scratching my head.

On another note Horkn , you mentioned William's demise and I was bummed to read this today:confused:

Well, I liked that, but not because it is good news
