IMG_1635.JPG this one is being done in Meadow Green and as pointed out it should be run horizontal

Mom's boyfriend will be helping me do it and he has a real good one. It'll be a huge improvement.

But a level for one reason or another is one tool I don't have my own. Never truly needed one I guess or I would have bought one.

May end up putting the old siding in the garage and painting it. Maybe.

Not too bad of a color. Definitely better than what's it's replacing

levels are over rated, you need to stand back and look at the big picture sometimes you need to make things crooked to make them look right.
If you r house is not level and you install the siding level it will stand out like a sore thumb.

One of the best builders/craftsman I know told me on a job, "just look at it, the eye is pretty good." It is certainly good enough in many situations.

    Of course.
When I built with my dad, he’d say “sometimes you just have to ease it off...”
    Edit: aka, split the difference.....

it is the best. the house I am siding right now I took many measurements and split all the differences. Now the windows and doors and top piece along the soffit are all pleasing to the eye. If I would of just ran level the siding would have different reveals at the windows and doors and the piece along the soffit would appear crooked, now it is 1/4" out in 28 feet.

Well, take a counter. Cut it off straight, if the wall is bowed slightly, the naked eye might not really notice it until the perfectly straight counter is against it. Then it stands out. Gotta cut the counter to disguise it if feasible, or work in a trim piece cut to disguise it
