I believe my boiler control crapped out. We are at 36 degrees with gusty winds. I am thankful for having a wood stove. I've said it to myself many times. We almost lost power a few times to add to it.

We use the stove as supplemental heat, but the new Castine is primary heat tonight. It is doing the job. Two year oak on deck.

It is a new controller from last winter. 24 vac transformer on it and a solenoid I think to start the circulator and fire the boiler. Three zone valves. I've been futzing with it all day. I'm pretty good with this stuff, but I'm calling it a day.

I'll have the plumber from work check it out tomorrow. All is good. It pays to have a back up plan in this case.

Ugh. Time for bed. I'm exhausted. And I feel like I just gained 5 lbs after I ate that meal. Or was it lost an hour of sleep? Or both?

I just never took a liking to it when I was growing up. I liked tea on occasion but have swayed away from that too. Hot chocolate works for me now. :)

I used to drink diet soda, iced tea AND coffee all day everyday. I am now down to only coffee. And oddly never took a liking to hot chocolate. Though there is thread here where papadave & @wellseasoned about cool whip lol. Life is funny.

I'm primarily a water drinker, occasional beer and maybe a soda a couple times a month.

I like herbal tea. My current fav is Wild Sweet Orange. Coca cola and coffee give me stomach cramps so I never got the java habit.

I run on black coffee, water and club soda. Usually pump up the water and club soda with a bit of these water flavor enhancers they have out.

My lil shop/garage once again made me smile big this morning. A pretty small thing, but huge to me... stepping thru a hallway into the shop, from the house, and snapping on the heat. My appreciation of this seems to grow every time I go out there. Heat is goooooooooder. Gonna put the 2 firewood bins together with screws today, then pull them apart so I can get the pieces down into the basement.
Coffee's gooder this monin too... :coffee:

What kind of heat is out there? My garage has baseboard heat off the house boiler, it stinks using oil  but it sure is convenient. Can't wait to see the bins. :binoculars:

Heading down to my BIL's house, he has several dead standing American Elms. I told him I'd drop and cut them up.:saw:

Yeah, it's off oil too... but I've realized it's worth every penny, whenever I have stuff to work on. Like many others here, after many years of crawling around under equipment/vehicles outside, welding/fabbing in the snow/cold, it gets to be a reason I don't get stuff done. (One of many ) I'll never forget how nice it was moving here, Nov of 2012, when I bought a 22' piece of I-beam (for a overhead trolley), and was able to get it into the shop to prep and paint it... then install it using the bucket/fork tines... all in the heated space...
