What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Moved the chicken pen today, stacked some splits and moved some wood in the garage. Eating lunch now and then going to band two bull calves.

 

Thinking they ain't gonna like that...

 

Made some more headway on my firewood bins for the Bilco this morning. I'm gainin' ...

 

Don't think I would either hence the 3 boys.

 

Yeah, can't be good. Could be worse tho. I'm sure our Iowans will verify... they don't use bands out that way fer the lil piggy's... it's a right of passage for young farmers to pick em up and chomp em off... my bro lived in Parkersburg for years... says he's seen it done...

 

Ouch. It's a running joke at work between a couple of us with multiple kids to see if we can get a group discount on getting it done. I always joke that I want to go first cause I know one of use (probably me) would say " I think I can do that hold still I just sharpened my knife".

 

Stinny when I started in the first year I predrilled some holes for the screws. Then realized I could just screw right through it. So I did all the rest of it that way. I just try to snug on the screws and not bury them. I have not had one crack yet. This is season number three starting. Working great so far.

You might get lucky especially if that stuff is really thin. The corregated part might help also, relieving the material a bit.

 

You mentioned using screws to install. Be sure to drill larger holes, as it says on the info sticker, for those screws to allow for expansion. The stuff will crack at every screw if you don't.

Stinny ummmm, I never did read those directions. Too late now.

 

It is thin, so that is probably what saves it. There is also not a lot of direct sunlight on it because of all the trees around the house. So far so good.

No my brother in law usually buys steers but bought 2 bull calves this time. I'm kinda the go to "yeah I'll give you a hand what are we doing?" guy. You know agree to help then ask what. I only have a little over an acre right now. Plan on buying more down the road.
