Woke up to 2" of snow on the ground. Supposed to stop later this a.m.. Getting ready to go over to my buddies to help get the trusses, sheathing and steel on his new garage. Should be fun for awhile till everything melts off.

First thing this morning is caffeine in body. Then going to my parents to get their garbage and come back and put ours on and go to the dump. Then getting everything in garages organized and put away so when the snow flies I'm all set. I am behind this year in doing this. Luckily we had a mild Fall so far and no white stuff. I have to clean my bench off again. Someday they will make a bench that does this for you. Set your tools or hardware on your bench and it will put it away for you. :handshake:

My internal click is all fubared. Got home thinking it was 9ish... Was barely 6:30. Ate supper, was gonna finish putting a transmission together, woke up a few mins ago, guess I passed out watching TV. Now its 3am and I'm wide awake.

Didn't realize it was Holloween yesterday. I'm doing good to know what month it is usually. Funny how days mean nothing when my "work" isn't really that. Sure I work hard but I love doing it. Most weeks are 100+ hrs and it hardly feels like 20.

Yea, I was going to ask if it was a midwest thing or something. In New England everyone knows what a wood stove is, even the high rollers in their monster McMansions. They may not have any interest in having something so "quaint and old fashioned" in their own home but at least know what it is.....

Sounds like the last couple days for me. FInally did the last mow (i hope) yesterday. Put the mower into hte shed and buried it under all hte kids yard toys... and got both cars into the garage for the first time.

All the paint brushes are now put away for the winter as well!

My wife was wondering if this might be the weekend for the first woodstove fire (and she is not a fan of the stove).... not sure yet its in the 40s but windy and rainy... may light up later if it cools off.

I take Sunday off once in a while. I work 7ish AM TO 8-10 PM 7 days a week usually.
Owning a company means I live and breathe it.

But lit hardly feels like work, more like a vacation. I've never been one to "relax". After a day or two of that I get stir crazy.
The work to be is the paperwork. Doing the books, feeding the never full .gov pockets, "coddling" a few customers...

Not to offend anyone but if you look at the output, those electric flame stoves are the same as the plastic electric floor models. Only difference is a lot of money and pretty.

I NEVER heard of a burn ban until I hit the stove forums. I honestly couldn't believe of such a thing.

We were feeling a little under the weather earlier in the week with stuffy noses and being very tired. I noticed the eyes on the two carved pumpkins that the kids made on the counter did not look right.

I hear ya Nate. I enjoy working a lot at things I like doing. Getting things done and even just moving around/being on the go makes me feel good.

Well, we got all the trusses up, whole roof sheathed, 2 sky lights installed and one side of the steel on.
Roof is 12/12 pitch on a 20 x 40 bldg. We did well. Nobody injured, it was all good.
