2015 was a fairly mild year for us up until about this point. Then all hell broke loose, and we got 110" in the next month.

Same thing with all my years here, some mild winters and some harsh ones, some nice summers and some scorching ones. Droughts, floods, wildfires, hail, yes, all.

January 2015 might have been mild at the coast, but it was no picnic my way. Lows were in the negative double digits for several weeks and highs barely above 0. Plenty of small storms and lots of big wind.

Oh yeah, my get up getting ready to snow blow on 1/27/15. Obviously very cold and windy because I don't put that on very often.

2014-2015 started here with 30 inches of snow Halloween. Cold windy and big storms every few days. 2 or 3 blizzards. Even when it was too cold to snow we’d get a good 18 inch storm. I don’t think it stopped until well into April.

Oh yeah, looking back, that Thanksgiving had a heavy snow and lots of people didn't have power to finish their birds up.

That thanksgiving I had just had surgery the day before and had to stay overnight. I remember everyone complaining. Didn’t really care. Bad on me, I had a pionidal cyst drained/removed. Had to go back a month later for another cleanup from he abscess, told the doc when scheduling you got me the day before thanksgiving why don’t you do the day before Christmas. He did, didn’t figure he’d be working that day.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw "consumption" being used. That used to kill them off in huge numbers before they got a handle on it. I can remember when my uncle was a patient at a sanitorium for months and months. He survived it.

I think the first time I heard it used for the description of the TB affliction was in a western movie about Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, and others. Of course, Doc Holiday succumbed to TB in Glenwood Springs Co.

Up until then, I always defined consumption as the act of consuming. Both are correct. But I will be careful not to use it that way, to avoid confusion! :handshake:

I wasn't the one that made the original suggestion, just agreed that they were good and added a few other things to try. Glad they are helping.

Another cloudy day. It is spitting a couple of snow flurries but that's all. Got down to a frigid 29 degrees overnight.  So winter continues even while people are still complaining about how bad it is. Got a message from an old friend who is complaining that he is so tired of Michigan winters that he plans on seeking out a place where they can start going south in the winter... What winter?:headbang:

    Apocalypse really means:

"Apocalypse" (ἀποκάλυψις) is a Greek word meaning "revelation", "an unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling". As a genre, apocalyptic literature details the authors' visions of the end times as revealed by an angel or other heavenly messenger.

Everyone tends to use this word as a description of a catastrophic event but it has quite another meaning. I have been reading a lot in Daniel and Revelation (Apocalypse of Jesus Christ)
