In other news.... you guys might remember that a month ago where were dealing with the sound of the jackhammers and the building of the foundation for the new home going in next door. This was my neighbors old barn that they split off some land and sold.

Well yesterday the framing crew was starting to put up walls . I also found that the property is now on the market.

    Get this.
My neighbor sold the barn and an acre for 185k.
The new house they are building... 3200sq ft.
    Asking price?

    $750,000

    o_O

Now granted this is the Boston suburbs, there is no such thing as a 150k house around here. A rickety old shack on a postage stamp will cost 200+. But still I was shocked. On the bright side it might help pull up the value of my place.....

Hope you don't lose power IS. Do you have any wood for heat in case you lose power? :D

Anyone looking for OEM Stihl cylinders? I found about 30 of them yesterday. Brand new or slightly used.

It was really coming down last night, decent wind and some thunder too. According to reports as of this morning we are at about 3 inches of rain since it started here. No power problems around me.

I was expecting the drive in to the office to be messy but lucked out hitting a lull during my ride. Surprisingly only one spot I hit a puddle big enough for the truck to make a bow wave but there are reports of some road closures due to flooding around.

Usually rain like this is enough to make the roads a mess between the idiots getting in accidents and the timid folks who drive 20mph at the first drop... but only ran into one of those this morning.

No power here, plus an hour + commute at this time which is why I start my day working from usually... Can't exactly do that without power. Don't really feel like pulling out the generator.

made out ok, tyfa. Looking at the weather maps on the news, this storm was huge and hung around for 2.5 days so far.
We are getting a lull right now, expecting some rain and lighter winds later today.

Power back since 10AM here based on the blinking ones. Good amount of rain, not sure on the totals, approaching 3" I believe. Still raining.
