My sister un invited me to her first wedding because I told her I was going to object when they ask for them. The old Catholic priest always ask that line here.
She is Maring a much nicer guy in June I’m in the wedding party

Horkn You say that but when I was in Australia which is definitely a metric country. And they were building houses, they were using standard measurements 2 x 4 and 4 x 8 because it’s easier

Because the materials are measured that way? If you had lumber, plywood etc in all meters it'd be just as easy to work with that way i bet.

I was raised by people used to imperial measurements but my schooling was metric. I grasp liters better than gallons, kms just as good or better than miles, but pounds better than kilograms and inches and feet much better than CM and meters.

    I think it’s just habit, I mean a 2 x 4 is really 1.5 x 3 1/2”. This was 20 years ago it might’ve changed by now

That what the ones I been buying recently are. I should try to get some rough lumber from the sawmill, that might be a true 2x4

Interesting. Growing up learning the German language, and having worked for German companies, as well as dealing with European customers, they all say how much easier the metric system is. Having to convert metric to sae for most of my professional life, it's a PITA.

Maybe because it's simpler to say? I mean, Ute (yoot) is easier to say than S. U. V. ?

Then again, if you have only 1 set of wrenches at your disposal, they better be metric because the metric ones will fit the sae fasteners, but the sae wrenches won't fit the metric fasteners.

Working on my tractor with my buddy, we had a lot of uses for 9/16" wrenches/ sockets. I told him to grab the 14mm. He was amazed. And he's a machinist.

    We survived Walmart, phew!

Pellet dealer closed at noon so we missed them, picked up some icky Rocky Mountains again for the weekend instead.

Went to pick up the FJ but it was still accidentally at the windshield shop that is closed on weekends.

YUM, taco bell for lunch !

Long day over. Dirt work and chores then took the in-laws to the Lights on The River Christmas display. Pretty cool. Now it time for a cold beer and a hot shower. Probably should have taken the shower before the car ride with 6 other people.
