Will it even pass state inspection? You can't fake those stickers no more.

Hang tight before you buy anything, depending on what program the new company uses, you'll have to meet certain requirements, such as year, model (your in sales, likely a 4 dr), and miles, and they will require amazingly high insurance coverage, so that will come into play with models too. Heck, if your on the REALLY strict one (forgot the names of them) you'd be better off leasing (gasp).

Edit to add, you mentioned miles, idk if you do "unreimbursed employee" expenses on taxes, with the miles WWW and I drove it was a huge impact on our taxes, one cannot use that mileage with those programs, so take taxes into acccount too.

It's sort of like going out to start a fire in a fire pit or burning barrel. Take one match and it usually won't light. Take 2 matches and one match then does the task really quick and easy.

You might check out the Buick lines also. We just bought an Envision. The Enclave is really super nice but not so nice in gas mileage. And Buicks usually are built to last. We regularly see several Buick cars around here that have been driven since the 80's.

I'd probably go with the Kia. The optimas are really nice.

Eh, that's overblown. The 2.0 turbo Hyundai/ Kia is the one with the most issues, but even then it's pretty rare to have an issue. A great friend of ours has a Santa Fe sport with that turbo 4 and she had it sieze on the freeway. Luckily she got it off the freeway and onto an off ramp. Hyundai put an entirely new engine and transmission free under warranty. It was fixed in 2 weeks and she was given a free new loaner until her vehicle was fixed.

You can get the 3.3 v6 in the optima. No turbos and that's a solid engine. Another friend has a nearly new Kia Sorento SUV with that engine. 27 mpg with an AWD SUV when he drive to Florida and back with it stuffed full. you can also get the 2.4 non turbo 4 in that car.

What's a state inspection? lol I actually keep it registered in Ma, but never drive it there mainly because of inspections. It's perfectly safe, but a total mongrel that gave inspectors fits.

Looks can be deceiving. It got down to the teens last night. It would've been an icy driveway had I not gotten most of the snow off. The black top will help melt when there's even a tiny bit of sun.

With the forecast winter the guessers expect, I didn't want to have ice all winter. Yes, I could use ice melt, but I hate using that stuff.

Lol, I've taken those in the past. Stressful jobs will do that to anyone.

Headcold, cough, sore throat, phlegm headaches. All the crappy stuff today.

The Buicks are really nice, but more than I'm wanting to spend on a car I'll pound miles onto.

I haven't driven the Optima yet, but I'm leaning that way. In 2013 when I bought my wife her Sorento we sat in an Optima EX in the showroom that was every bit as nice as my Acura TL at the time.

As long as its comfortable, I'll probably buy one. Likely an EX if theres one available, but if the price is right on an LX I'll consider it.

All very good points! I need to reach put to the HR director and inquire. I'm going to buy a new 4 door, so that's not a concern.

I definitely need to educate myself on the tax angle of this as well. It was SO much easier to just click on a link every 75K and order a new car and they would deliver it to me!
