UGH. Sorry for your troubles. I’ve dealt with those before as well.

Hope you have a great birthday party for him.

You will get through the other junk when you get to it.

As long as everything is easy enough to do to get the party going then things will be alright. Lots of work ahead, but you’ll get it done.

Thoughts for aquariums? Top tank would rest entirely on the metal frame, about 280lbs. I need a bottom shelf for another aquarium below, ~180 lbs but will sit on the board, I guess I could block it up underneath?

I won't use the upper shelves, no doubt will come in useful in the barn.

What size tank (s)? 40 breeders?

I looked at the list, and it doesn't say much about weight capacity. Honestly, I like 2x4 stands with plywood bottoms for the tanks. They are cheap, and strong.

Is there enough space for an aquarium between the shelves? With room to spare?

Another down side may be of water getting on those shelves. That stuff and water do not go well together.

Can I raise shrimp at home? Do they have fish tanks with built in fryers?

Oh, shelves are adjustable, I just want the bottom legs and two shelves
Thanks Gas, top Aq will not need pressboard shelf, bottom tank will. Or, I could leave the bottom shelf board out too and ask WWW to put together a 2" x 6" frame to get it off the ground for gravity hydrocleaning syphon. Or even put 2x6 to replace bottom pressboard?

Yes, some brainiack used plywood and pressboard in the bathroom here at one time :picard:

Previous restaraunt stand in my old set up was not that much better but more lbs per shelf and I put rubber roof coating on the shelves. Still have that shelving unit today in the garage. Bottom shelf bowed from big tanks on that one:emb: Pffft, he had to put floor jacks in the crawl space for that unit:eek:

wildwest I have close to the same shelf system and am not at all impressed with it. Like Gasifier says (but a little more politely) those particle board shelves are for crap! I have paint cans on mine and the dang things are bowed to no end. I generally flip the boards over every year!

Take Horkn advice and build one out of 2X4 and plywood.

Thanks Dave :) I'm not able to use tools in the garage like I used to... Was hoping for something I could do. We'll see what else I can find. Seems the old wrought iron double stackers do not exist now.

Well you are not the first to use these. It seems like they do work, but any shelving needs to be real plywood. Don't get the wire rack type either. The one you listed should work. I would watch the feet unless it's on concrete.

Made a pile of leaves this afternoon. It's now dark out.

Picture does not do justice. Lot more to go, but it's a start.
