Cold front not here yet but hasn't warmed up much either. Rain, rain and more rain before the cold front arrives.

That rain rain rain is here too. The guessers say it will be done by 3 pm. All day the temps will gradually go down. It was 63 this am. By 7 am it will be 31 degrees.

Somehow we're to not even get any flurries.

I was going to winterize my boat yesterday evening, but I had to change plans and change a well pressure switch instead.

So, instead of that, I put the trouble light with a 60 watt incandescent bulb in it to make heat inside the doghouse. I'll plug it in at midnight or so and unplug it in the late am. Our maybe I'll just put it on a timer so I don't forget.

I'll winterize the boat next week by draining the water from the engine and cooling system, then filling it with rv antifreeze. This way I just start it up on the spring and it's good to go.

I'm going to try and get mind winterized this Sunday. The wind has been pretty strong here for the past 12-14 hours. I had a branch come down and pop a hole in the canvas boat cover. :headbang:

Just moved my tool box out of the dealership to the new shop. The last two weeks have been painful at work but I spoke with the owner today and he told me he was disappointed in losing me but is proud I’m trying to do better for my family and can’t knock me for it. It felt good to hear.

Outboards are simple. Drain the lower unit and refill it with fresh lube. You can fog it if you want, and possibly run some stabil or similar product. Inboards like mine are fairly simple once you know where the block drains and the raw water pump are, and drain them. Or waste a ton of antifreeze and fake a lake it in until the water out the exhaust is all antifreeze. I/O's are the hardest as you have the lower unit and the engine and rwp to fill with antifreeze.

Unless things have changed with outboards that is. I know BRP ( Evinrude) with the etec can winterize with a setting. But you still need to drain the lower unit.

Yeah, it looks like I just need to dump the engine and lower unit oil and fog the engine. Simple.

I'm going to pump the gas out of it and run a gallon of stabilized ethanol free gas into the engine.

All employers should want their employees to do well. If they can't match pay/benefits, they shouldn't fault someone for seeking better.

Hope the move proves to be beneficial for you.

Definitely replace your tank with a bladder tank, easier on pump and related switches.

I've still not fully addressed last year's pump issues. Everything works, just not as well as previously.

Oh yes, you've got a 4 stroke. Change the oil in that and the lower unit lube and you're good for spring.

I'm thinking of going with a Pside-kick system. PK125 PSIDE-KICK Pressure Tank Kit
That valve allows the use of a much smaller bladder tank. Yeah the kit is expensive, but those large bladder tanks are pretty stupid f it r price too. If this makes the pump last longer, then it's worth it.

Took care of some family things today and got some stuff done around the barn too. Then watched my son’s team win another soccer game today.

They are undefeated this season and have already taken the top spot for their division. With several more games to go. After winning the last game Wednesday, where my son scored the winning goal in double overtime :dex:, they could no longer be caught by any other team with the numbers they have. That was an exciting game at home. Talk about a great outcome! Proud parents to say the least.

Took a vacation day to do those things today but, the weather was beautiful and it turned out to be a great day to get things done!

Exactly. If they want to retain great employees, then they have to compensate them. They only have themselves to blame for losing great employees.

    You'll do great Warner !
