Lots of good anchor points for winching! As someone who used to do recoveries like that....that's a dream spot!

A friend said something like that.. At first I thought he was kidding. The snapper was only 5 feet away from my door that leads to the kitchen. Would have no idea how to cook him. :)

It apparently got to 86° at our house in Wisconsin yesterday. Record high. Glad we left the AC on like 79° before leaving on vacation. I was waiting until we were walking out the door to determine whether to have the heat on low, or the AC on high temp. It never got to anywhere near freezing, so we made the right choice. We'll be home Friday.

Mwalsh9152 , the fireplace at stewmans was going and was needed. It was in the low 50's last night on the island. We sat about 10 feet from the fireplace. Ambiance at stewmans was great, service was crap, lobsters were awesome, but it's really hard to screw those up. It was way overpriced too. Still fun, but I had so many better lobster meals than stewmans. Then again, I hate crowds. ;)

I've found that just about EVERYTHING on the island is way overpriced. We were there in the summer, and most times we ate out on the deck. As you said, the ambiance is great, I dont even remember the service good or bad.

If you go far away from bar harbor, stuff is much less. I mean like the other end of the island. Lots of great wharfs and diners on the other end of the island.

When we first went up there for my honeymoon, we stayed at the hotel next to Stewmans, the one in your second picture. Talk about pricey! But a really nice place.

Is the last picture Jordan Pond? The hike around the pond is beautiful.

I believe that is actually Beaver Dam Pond. The one with the pups is Little Long Pond. Aka the best dog park in the world.

I feel the same way about sports and beer...don't like either, but drunks and pizzed off fans can be entertaining to watch.
