This morning it is 50 F as we head out for our walk and really dark outside. This week is supposed to bring us sunny and warm weather. We were thinking of going camping on the long weekend but guess what? It is probably going to rain.

I prefer not to do roofs anymore. But this was for the parents. My big brother helping me out while home on “vacation”. In between business calls.

I was sitting on my front porch when I heard a noise that I can only describe as sounding like the Jolly Green Giant bowling a strike. Walked out back to see about 1/3 of a cord laying on the ground. :headbang:

I hated to like this cause I had it happen to me. A storm knocked over an 8’x4’ loaded steel rack. Twisted it up pretty good too. I don’t envy you having to re-stack the wood.

Hope you all are doing well. Have had a lot going on this year. Quiet night here at home. Barbara is staying at the hospital for whats looking like a week. Spent last night with her but just came home to do some house work and get cleaned up. Going to try to stay home a while and get some sleep but we will see how that goes.. LOL. I guess I wanted to say hi to everyone and have been trying to be a man about our problems. I will say I love my wife and have been and will be there for her. It’s been a hard time but I can do it. Be thankful for your loved ones.

So 1/2 the garage roof stripped today. Ran into a few things that slowed me down. One was a wasp nest. No choice. Had to go get, and open up a special can of whoop azz on them.

I ended up doing 85-90% of the labor on roof today. My back.o_O Yowzer. But, took a lot of short breaks and made it through until beer:30. :coldone: We had two cold ones together. Then supper with Mom, big brother, and my family. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and Italian sausage on the grill  with potato salad and then Heath Klondike Bars for dessert!

It didn’t resemble a “day off”. But we got some good stuff done. That side of the roof catches the sun all day long. The shingles were fried to curled up potato chip status. The other side looks fine. Because of time constraint on both of us this week, we will put down new paper and shingles on this side of the roof and then get ridge cap back on. We will do the other side on another trip when he comes home.

I’m exhausted. Time for . You hoarders have a good night.
