Dear Huband is hunting. He has not gone in almost 3 years. He will be home at nightfall. I would wait if it were up to me for the colder weather, high's in the 50's foreasted for next week.

So the dogs said he is home.... Guess he backed into the pole barn? Wow he has only been fishing twice since our daughter was born and this is his first large animal in several years. Ummmm, guess I am the one that needs to order a new freezer now.

Edit: Sorry, false alarm, he did not bring one home, just being careful to get gun secured in case since its raining.

Have to work a 12 today but then have a few days off. Speaking of hunting. I have to get out this week and clear the brush so everyone can see the posted signs along the property lines. Man that stuff grows fast.

Kids where so happy that Mom got home yesterday that they gave us an even harder time going to bed last night....:hair:

Anyway, with the boss back in the house I can get back to work. Another good weather day meant I burned another half day of vacation to try and get this second floor project done and the windows back in before it gets cold.

Most of the paint is done - walls, trim, touched up one floor board that had all the poly sanded off it for some reason. New light fixture is in. Even patched up a big hole in the plaster (real lathe/plaster) where one of the handrail brackets was mounted. replaced the tarnished brass brackets with black to match the black iron hardware everywhere else.

And since doing it once is not good enough, we will do it twice. :headbang: These stairs used to have red treads. The walls then where tan. My wife thought red would not go with the new grey color scheme so we changed them to blue. Now she likes red again, so back they go.

No, its not a patriotic theme. The floor enamel takes 24 hours for each coat to dry and this is the only access to the second floor so we paint alternate treads to keep the stairs somewhat usable. Ends up taking 4 days (2 coats on odd treads, then 2 coats on even treads).

This time the boss had mercy on me and decided to paint them herself :)

Meanwhile Ive been out in the garage razor blading paint off 30 panes of glass.

Pulled about 4000 staples out of the ceiling last night getting rid of the old tiles. Need to install 4 more can lights before the drywall guys get here Friday.

Taking the wife out tonight for our anniversary Friday. 12 years goes by fast.

Someday you will look back and wonder where the last 40 years have gone! Happy Anniversary.
