It’s coming here by noon too. We did get a couple fine days in though. 80s and low humidity. The kind of days I wish the summer would have.

Up early this morning hoping there is no rain today. campinspecter is headed out to go firewood gathering. It has been quite a while since he has gone out but we have an empty bin in the woodshed and he doesn't want to move the wood outside to inside. I think he is going out to have fun. Four more weeks of work for me then summer holidays.

For a year or so I been trying to find a hat to wear when out in the full sun for long periods. A boonie style or straw hat type. To shade my ears. They don't really burn but to lessen the exposure over the years.

I'm normally a baseball hat guy but think I'm going to get a vented boonie style hat.

Ended up putting in one of those magnet screens in the garage workshop door as the bugs are getting a little too cozy with this guy. Had to build a frame as the doors I put in the workshop are French style (two operators) but for summer, I can live with just the one screen.

Today is cold and windy. Good for some inside stuff.

Went to the bank this morning and wired money for the new place in Florida. Called and had the electric put in my name and on autopay. Leaving for there in the morning. I want to make sure I actually have electric and that the air is on so I don’t arrive there later this year to a black mold dripping mess. Duke Energy was offering a deal for $7.99 per month where they put a surge protector on your meter base. If anything electric or electronic gets killed by a surge or lightning they will cover the replacement. It sounds reasonable to me, what say hoard? Florida has the most lightning strikes of any state.

Heck for $8 a month, the first time you use the warranty its paid for itself...those surge suppressors have a limited life span so might as well let them upgrade it, and/or pay for the blowed up stuff...

That’s what I thought. The electric there has averaged $42 per month for the past 12 months. What’s another $8?

I'd consider it. That's cheap power. Without heat or AC running my bills are over double that

It is quite a soft hat but a wide brim because of skin cancer problems. The problem with most hats that have a wide brim is they are not stiff enough and flop down over the face so you can't see squat.
