Another great day in Michigan. Love that beautiful sunshine but it is something we've been short on for too long.

On Thu of last week (2 days ago) I went to the cottage and while waiting for 99 to show up, I decided to run some water lines (for hot water).

I had picked up a 2o gal water heater a few years back from a rummage sale and finally got around to doing something with it. The cottage is very small and any space is at a premium; I put the heater in the bathroom and tied it into the source water line. Up until this point, we always had to heat our water on the gas stove (wood stove when we can use that).

Of course, the job entailed crawling under the cottage (an open crawl space-and I mean belly crawl space!) but surprisingly, I didn't feel that bad after doing the job. :BrianK:

I went ahead and finished it all up so we had hot water that evening! :rootintootin:

Fishing was good this morning. I got out on the water by 5am and had a limit of nice bluegill, 6 crappie and a nice big perch to round out a mess of fish by 6:05am.

For lunch I scaled and gutted four of the sunfish, then fried them whole in some butter, flour and seasoning salt for my wife and I. That was how we cleaned and fixed them when I was young.

After fishing and filleting the rest of the fish, I hilled up my potato bed with finished compost, then just putzed around the yard watching the plants grow, the birds, and all the pollinators out and about in the garden. It is 86f, but not humid right now. Highs in the 70s tomorrow, and 65f by mid week.

Our daughter and 7 week old granddaughter are on their way over now for the afternoon.

Afternoon all. I made the mistake of trying to get a few of my residential lawns mowed today. Every single neighborhood had grad parties making parking the truck and trailer virtually impossible.

One yard was next door to a 200 person outdoor shindig so I completely skipped that one outta courtesy.

Not fun. At all. Said screw it and came home and cracked a beer.

Back from the lake. The boat ran well. I need to get my boat cleaner, but that didn't affect how it ran. 20190608_161536_HDR~2.jpg

I need to put the guide poles back on the trailer as you cannot see the trailer when the boat is not on it. Yes it's got the rear view camera and pro trailer back up stuff, but I prefer to do it the old fashioned way. The rear cam really is nice for backing the truck up to the trailer to hook it up though.

Thanks. I really like it. It gets better mpg than my Audi did. It tows this 4000 lb or so boat and trailer very well and it still gets great mpg. Better than the wife's v8 4runner does. Both mpg and just overall towing this boat. I've owned this boat nearly 20 years. It's a 78 correct craft Martinique, which is really just a fancy version of the regular Ski Nautique. I put a lot of time into the interior when I bought it, like 250 man hours. I gutted the entire interior and redid the whole thing. I also added better heads and intake to the 351w in it. I see I need to redo the stereo again as only 2 speakers were working today. I think the amp isn't turning on as the subwoofer and the two front speakers are run from the amp, and the deck powers the two speakers that were working. Good thing I brought my Bluetooth speaker as we were able to hook mine up with our friends on their boat. Supposedly you can link like 150 of those speakers together to play the same source.

The house actually was white, well the back side at least. :thumbs:and the front was a brown rough sewn cedar.

However, we just got new siding and it's two tone dark green with white trim and doors.

    I really like the ‘tique!

This is the boat I am going to Louisiana to order shortly. Since I am moving to Florida I need a lifetime fishing vessel.

That's a neat boat. It should go well with a nice v6 on it. Center console boats are slick.

This weekend was a washout. Hoping next weekend will be better for boating. Cause I have only been out one weekend so far and we missed not going this one. We're planning on going out next weekend.

That’s my job. Sometimes the crappie are coming in the boat so fast I stand over the minnow bucket and bait every hook as I take the fish off and put them in the cooler. But you are welcome to come pilot 3 or 4 cane poles and help in the carnage.
