Busy here also, gonna be for the next week at least. At least the "melt" has started, creek came up a few inches in the last 24hrs. Very peaceful sound at night.
Trying to squeeze more time out of a day.

(2 top header posts in 2 days, how does this happen... :picard:)

Morning all. Getting ready for our walk. Kind of drizzly morning so I don't know if the dogs will come. Everything is just soaking up the moisture around here.

Batteries are more of how many years old they are not miles. I know people with 200,000 miles on batteries, but they drive their work trucks about 50k a year.

80 is forecast for us but not there yet. Still, working outdoors was a bit uncomfortable this morning. When I came inside I was soaking wet just from sweat. But my old man and my grandfather always told me that sweat in spring and summer gets the poison out of your body so sweat away. But I think they just wanted us kids to work harder so they didn't have to work as much.

Spent the day getting all the plants in the flower bed. I am getting to old or fat for this crawling around on the ground and up and down stuff. Told my honey, "If the flowers don't do good this year, next year I will do my flower shopping at Hobby Lobby." They have a lot of flowers. Just stick them in the ground and enjoy. No need to water and they stay in bloom all year.
They only thing I have to plant yet is 4 rows of corn for my later season harvest.

Got the boat running tonight. Bought a new battery after work and I have the oil draining to get the new oil and filter in on the am. Man, the oil companies sure have made buying oil tough that has enough zddp in it for flat tappet cams.

I think the 15w40 rotella 4t has enough zinc and phosphorus. Off to scour Bob is the o I'll l guy, and flat tappet cams oil threads. Ugggggg. If I have to buy different oil in the am, I will.

You can buy the zinc additive in an auto parts store.

That's also said to do more harm. Reasoning is because you are messing with the formula that the engineers came up with.

I've got a gallon of the Mobil delvac 300 super and a gallon of the rotella t4 both in 15w 40. Both appear to be good for flat tappet cammed gas engines.

I’ll have to tell my son that. He has a '67 Mustang. He’s been using the oil additive and the gas lead substitute.

I'm putting the Mobil delvac 1300 in. Their site says it's rated for Marine use as my tie breaker. Also can be used for extended drain intervals.

Both oils are pretty similar in the Blackstone labs tests for zinc and phosphorus.

I sure need a good boat day as work has been stupid busy. To make it even crazier, the other Buyer is transferring to Planning. So, I'm the only Buyer in 2 weeks. Granted my boss is there too, so he does buying when he needs to, but yeah. We were understaffed at 3 Buyers, then they force retired one Buyer in mid January, now this? Oh, were getting an intern soon. That'll fix everything, right?

I've got three newbies... About three weeks in... and they are finally catching up with the small things allowing me to expand on to what I need to get done... Takes some time for those that are green....build the base and expose them to the broad spectrum... Good Luck...:handshake:

Oil has changed so much in the last few years.

Be prepared for the Google search wormhole of death. It's an oil related topic too, so it gets extra stupid.

If I were wanting to actually not think about the topic at all, it's get the Brad Penn or Joe Gibbs oils that are made for flat tappet cammed engines. They just don't sell that in stores. There's also an amsoil oil made for this as well, but that's pricey.

There's also talk that if you don't have some extreme lobed cam, and it's already broken in, that you can run pretty much any ck4 oil, as well as many other oils.

At least you've got bodies to do the work. Right now I've got just enough time to get through the daily stuff, but none for process improvement or projects. That's after 10 hr days for me. :hair:

I've got a feeling that my company will feel the need to hire another buyer or 2, asap. The tough part is that there's extreme difficulty in hiring now.
