Funny thing was, at least down here, that Halloween storm (about 2in at my house) ended up being the only significant snow we had that entire winter.

Nice job JS.! Looks like you had a little support work to do also. It's a long span, so I assume you have some supports that go down to the ground that are in the creek?

Again what a difference!! Would you post snow pics of these bridges this winter? I'd like to see what they look like in use.

We got more like 6" and it wasn't even winter. You definitely don't want it to snow when the trees still have leaved.

No supports, the water and ice would destroy them. It does have a little bounce.

Children with marshmallows on sticks always bring back good memories.
Living in logging camps early in our married life, we had free company supplied electricity but it meant no major electric power appliances i.e. electric stoves, so our cooking ranges were always propane. When our daughters reached university age, they related a story of how much they enjoyed roasting marshmallows over a camp fire.:MM: So much in fact if mom and dad were not home, that they would roast them over an burner on the propane range.  Kids are creative !:D

Hot dogs too, on the end of a green stick... funny how those memories get burned in our minds from many decades ago.

Yep, I remember roasting them in my parents backyard when I was a kid. history repeats.

My wife has even expressed a willingness to try camping :) I think the kids are ready.

I'd been some 60 consecutive hours with the curing process on the new boiler's refractory and could not pass up the picture, and to especially share it with all my friends on this site.

Campfires, hot dogs, marshmallows and hot chocolate are still part of our routine, just the kids now have four legs!
These pictures are from last summer as we've had a campfire ban in effect all summer which is very unusual for here having a ban period!
So looks like we need a outdoor fire pit at home.
