Trail work done for the day. Time for lunch. This is going to be a nice section through the Spruce.

We had some decorative light posts at the end of our driveway that we never ever turned on. They were pretty ugly. Then a few months ago the trash truck arm smacked one of them. Time for them to go.

The first one was already loose from the trash truck. I was able to wrestle it out most of the way by hand, then finish it off with the quad.

The second one I tried to wrestle by hand...then tried the quad...then tried the F150. If I popped it hard the truck would barely wiggle it. Go get the 50HP tractor and rock it about 50 times and it finally loosens up. Turns out that side was set in literally 800 lbs of concrete. Got a big hole to fill in now.

    "A" for effort?
A bit fuzzy on the concept though.
Oh, and the Wally has been putting their milk gallons out for about $1.27 lately (sometime more). Any of those "fancy" stores around you?

forgive me, I'm confused. Change would be $3.01 or $3.02 ? How did you get only $3 back yooperdave ? So she wanted to add a penny to the cost :loco:  ?

Storm came in early, WE HAVE ROBINS!! 10 of them in the back yard. I've been hard to spot one here and there since moving here. Hooray ! Too bad they can't dig to feast on the termites around the cement patio:rofl:  Well, they're already gone, was awesome to see them though, little perk on a cold dark day.

 tripped a breaker in the new electric part of the house (space heaters till pellet stove part gets here). SO relieved it was just that and not a power outage.

Started seeing Robins here a couple days ago. Nice sign of spring. They and the blackbirds can start eating as many ticks as they want. I won't mind.......at all.
Pretty sure Dave got $3.02 back....he mentioned putting the pennies in the bowl. :loco:

You're right on target, no confusion on your part. The gal was a bit confused though. Instead of thinking 1.99, she must have been thinking 2.01.
For whatever reason, I don't know. Maybe it was my dazzling good looks that through her off? :D Naw, probably not that at all!

I actually did have a young woman buy coffee for me at the same place 2-3 years back! We were chatting in while in line, that's all. (Things like that just don't happen to me!)

But, what did happen to me today was not so nice. While we were throwing $$$ arouned Wisconsin, a breaker tripped here (also) in the basement. The bad part was that the circuit that tripped controlled the 120V to the sump pump. And it is spring time here. That = sum pump needed!

Yup, flooded floor in basement. The only real loss was one package of those lcompressed wood fuel bricks that you throw in the wood stove every now and then. Man, do those things ever absorb and expand! Wood fire built in the kicker stove, furnace turned up, two box fans blowing around on the basement floor and things should be all dry by bedtime!
