I have a friend who's been a Skidoo dealer and ran a repair service. They used to have a storage place where they would "pickle" the sleds. Never had issues. I'm not sure what the pickle recipe was... some type of special oil sprayed in & around all things piston & crank related. Marvel's mystery oil is amazing stuff. Might have been that. Dunno.

Interesting day planned. Hitting the links this afternoon for a good cause, the Make-a-Wish foundation. Gonna see a bunch of HS buddies and try and hit Em straight.
Tonight it's firepit time and if it's cool enough I may just open a pumkinhead.

I went 15 years ago - Rome, Florence and Pisa. You will have a blast. Enjoy the food, drink lots of local wine and dont rush. I dont know if you are a history buff, the Roman ruins are amazing to see.

My Dad had hernia surgey on Thu, so today we are gonna load up the kids and head down to his place in CT for a short visit. Kids are bouncing off the walls excited, now I have to corral them and get on the road before the pike traffic gets bad (lots of construction in Worcester has been clogging it on weekends).

Probably fill the truck with another load of hand me down tools on the return trip.... since my Dad finally "retired" for good from his contracting business he has been offloading stuff to me -mostly things he collected multiples of. So far he gave me a pankcake, bostich framing nailer, biscuit cutter, delta jobsite tablesaw. He told me I might get one of the 3 chopsaws (couple 10s and a 12 i think) this time around and couple hundred feet air hose....

    I know, im spoiled :p

I do enjoy history not as much as my wife who majored in it in college. This trip was her idea and she planned it all i just funded it. Were going to the coliseum, the vatican, the catacombs, Pisa and Pompeii and a whole slew of other stuff. Im looking forward to the food and wine and to finding new beers to try.

Enjoy it, you will be amazed. I was never big into art but I was truly amazed by the Vatican... the scale of St. Peters is just humbling, and staring up at the ceiling of the Sistene is a sight... and their art collection is amazing.

Colosseum is very cool, Circus Maximus not so much left, but the thing that really awed me was that just waking around the city you see 2000 year old ruins everywhere.. There are modern apartment blocks where one wall for example is the ruin of some old Roman structure. its crazy cool.

I dont really remember much about the beer, we mostly drank wine... let me know if you find good ones!

Im getting pretty excited about it I really like seeing ancient stuff right next a McDonalds or some other new modern structure. We went to Greece a couple years ago and it was really neat to go to starbucks and the walk around the corner and see 1000+ year old public toilets I expect to see a lot of the same thing in Italy.

It feels like Fall. In fact, this whole month has felt like Fall. This is from almost 2 weeks ago. Sorry, my camera resized the image in the upload.
