I see where you're coming from, but I definitely like them more than the Chevy hd and either of gms new half tons. (Which are giving the 07-13 a run for their money as my least favorite full size gm, at least outside - I like the new interior better no question). The 14-18 is definitely GMs best truck of the 21st century IMO.

That said, I definitely strongly prefer the Ford in this instance.

Moved 1/2 cord of wood up to the house today.
I got a pleasant surprise. I thought the whole stack was shoulder wood. I got about 1/2 way through the stack and discovered the rest was primo stuff. I believe the rest of the stack may have been the left overs from last season or maybe the season before.

    Getting nothing but ice.

I hate to call in to work, but 30 miles on ice is not worth 8 hours of pay when I have 86 hours of PTO.

These said they worked with audi/vw, then later in the description they also say they might need resistors. Unless you spend a lot of coin all of the led lights on Amazon say the same crap. These were under $20. They work well too, and are not blinding either, probably because they are fog lights, in housings designed to shine low to keep under the fog.

The Ford looks great, not really much different than the current ones. The bigass 7.3 gas v8 will be a beast though. The GMC at least looks better than the chevy one.

Although it's hard to not look better than this...

I've warned you, get a barf bag...

I'm not a fan of chrome, on a silver truck it looks fine though. I fear that if I get body color bumpers, that they'll rust. Then again, that's an excuse to get aftermarket fabbed bumpers then. ;)

Well, yeah it is sorta north, but really it's an "over" .;) Cobourg Ontario is essentially the same longitude as where I work.

The rig will be coming up north from chicagoland to it's destination though.

    "Uncle Joe's House"

    "Uncle Joe's house
Is a house on a hill with a view,
The shingles are black and the siding is blue,
The shed's done to match and the garage sure is too,
And maybe it don't look like that much to you..

    But uncle Joe's door,
    Was open to me forevermore,
And once I set foot on that floor,
I never knew quite what was in store,
But it'd make my day, that was for sure.

    Yeah, uncle Joe's house,
Got a beautiful view of the bay,
Don't take it for granted for a day,
No other place lives life quite this way,
Or makes your problems seem so far away.

In uncle Joe's house, the walls are clad in solid pine,
Almost takes you back to another time,
Well the smell of fresh bread never quite leaves the kitchen,
Try just one bite and you'll have a new addiction,

Uncle Joe says the living room is lived in enough,
He don't really watch the TV all that much,
The couch sure looks like it's hardly been touched,
And maybe the loveseat hadn't seen that much love.

    Uncle Joe's room,
To be fair it could stand to see a broom,
Could do worse than break out a vacuum,
He'll get to it some bitter cold afternoon.

Yeah, uncle Joe's basement is warm in the winter,
Cool in the summer, just watch out for splinters,
Uncle Joe builds himself what most people just buy,
He'll keep his hands busy till the day that he dies.
Nails in a coffee can, screws in a jar,
Saws everywhere, and a scattered pry bar,
    A drill and a jigsaw, a grinder, a vice,
And the cat's on patrol to keep out the mice.
Wood along the back wall, stacked 7 feet high,
Stowed a year in advance, well seasoned and dry,
A little room where he relaxes and ties a few flies,
On the wall hangs a few things from days now gone by.

    In uncle Joe's shed,
Some days he might as well add a bed,
On the bench is an old Jonsered,
And a few old oars up overhead,
About 8 or 10 lawn mowers all over the floor,
    Screwdrivers, ratchets, and hammers galore,
Some handsaws, some bucksaws, and a scattered spare door,
Some relics kids these days only know as folklore,
Some rods and some line, and a tackle box or eight,
Some obselete fish nets stuffed in a crate,
Some non-matching hubcaps and some old license plates,
And a few outboard engines in a non-running state.

    In Uncle Joe's garage,
    Nothing ever leaves running bad,
He don't let stubborn bolts make him too mad,
He was taught well by his mom and his dad.
He's got every size socket and every size wrench,
And a nice big sledgehammer sitting on his workbench,
A Johnson bar here, and a pair of vice grips there,
A welder underneath and the safety gear somewhere.

    in uncle Joe's yard,
a good time ain't one bit hard,
Don't have to be afraid to let down your guard,
Let the sunset and gaze at the stars.
Under the deck lies a few extra bricks,
By the basement door a wood horse for chopping up the sticks,
when the beagle comes over, prepare to get licked,
If the mower don't start, just give it a kick.

    Uncle Joe's truck,
20 years old but she's never left him stuck,
He makes sure he don't let her rust,
Keeps everything quite well greased up.
    She got 300K miles on a 5.0,
She ain't real fast but she ain't real slow,
There's nowhere within reason that he's afraid to go,
He ain't scared of much mind you, that's uncle Joe.
She's blue on the outside and blue inside too,
He's worked her hard since the day he bought her new,
Wore a hole in the floormat with the heel of his shoe,
Hairline scratches, she got just a few.
Box is 8 feet long and the cab will seat six,
No part of her uncle Joe don't know how to fix,
Hauled more crazy loads than the commercial depicts,
Still routinely hauls a half cord of sticks.

    Uncle Joe's boat,
Ain't worth no million but she floats,
He built her himself with well seasoned oak,
Made sure she was well chinked with tar and some rope.
Old Yamaha outboard runs like the day she was made,
But uncle Joe got a few spare parts on board just in case,
She's speedy, cuts real smooth through the waves,
Way better built than most stuff these days.

    uncle Joe's quad
is a 30 year old Yamaha,
Almost looks like she hit a brick wall,
But what counts is she don't ever stall,

full of mud, full of patches, with rusty old racks,
she might have been to the end of the world and back,

the muffler is punctured and the steering is loose,
but she hauls trailers of wood and quarters of moose.

    Uncle Joe's cat
is mostly white with some patches of black,
She's more than a match for any rat,
Likes a rub when it's time for a nap.

    Uncle Joe's dog
Chases the wabbits through the trees and the bog,
Nose to the ground, he follows the path,
Bedtime comes after a much needed bath.

Uncle Joe has no papers to prove academic success,
But uncle Joe is a jack of all trades nonetheless.
What it'd take some a lifetime to earn their degrees,
Uncle Joe learned in childhood on the land and the sea.
An electrician would fry the grid before uncle Joe would,
He could teach a carpenter a thing or 2 about wood.
Don't you worry if you can't find a certified mechanic,
With uncle Joe around, there's no need to panic,
He'll build you a house if you buy the lumber,
And when pipes start leaking, he don't call no plumber.
Mind you don't ask him to fix your computer,
He'll sooner buy another and take the old one and shoot 'er.

Yeah, uncle Joe's coat, it's a little torn and smells of wood smoke,
His old overalls, you'd swear he was playing paintball,
His boots might squeak, but at least they don't leak,
His hat, well it's dusty and full of tree sap,
Oh, but uncle Joe's beard, it's the finest I've seen a man wear,
Even though it's grayed with the years.

Looking back on the problems that now seem so small,
When we were children we didn't know that we had it all,
Sometimes it seemed as a naive little kid,
Uncle Joe cared when no one else did.
    Hindsight 20/20,
    like it's not even funny,
    Nothings too cool for school,
Still gotta play by the rules,
    Give anything to go back,
But it don't work like that,
    Life just made more sense,
    Ignorance sure is bliss,
But we don't know it till the truth hits,
But sometimes when the real world and all of its bills,
Get too much to bear and I can't cure my ills,
When I can't seem to even bring myself to smile,
I go somewhere I can forget for a while....
I'm going up to uncle Joe's house."

admittedly, that being a "realistic" photo, I'd say it looks a tad better than the computer graphic looking ones. Better being a relative term of course. If the bumper were body color, it might actually look (again, relative term) comparitively decent.

I'm definitely interested in the 7.3, never thought I'd see something that size under the hood of a pickup again with all the mpg regulations now. But I'm sure with today's tech, they aren't going g to be the guzzler the old 7.5/460 was haha

Still cold and crispy out there. We are headed down island for a couple of days so it is a short work week for me. I hope it doesn't snow until we get back.
