Thanks Dennis. Things have settled down round heeya, thankfully. Woodstove has dried the basement out and the garage is back in it's usual chaotic order. This "fun" laid open an issue at the top of the Bilco door frame that I gotta get to. Whatever was / is there has turned to soft mush and is useless as a seal between the frame and the concrete. As for the garage... that's gonna be a summah project. Needs a drain between the pavement and the garage floor. Frost has done it's thing and a crushed stone / piping drain would be the easiest way out. With any luck, I'll forget all about it by next winter... ;)...:picard:

Neither having a 3 day mantantrum and being a jackwagon will not make you sicker nor your wife less sick. It's not a contest.:heidi::heidi:

Thanks. She seems to be better. Last time she threw up was at 6am, acting as my alarm clock. Wife is putting her to bed now.

Looks like I have a short notice trip to NJ next week. What should have been 2 hours each way for a meeting in CT is now 5 each way for a morning meeting.

Who can tell me what a water heater set at 150* will do to human skin?

8 hours in the truck today. New job prospect looks like it could be interesting....definitely right in my wheelhouse. Just need to make sure the travel requirements and money are right.

Thanks, not worth a scald or burn because so and so wants extra hot bath, and we are not plumbers so we'd have to call one and wait for the mixer to be installed. NOT worth the risk of a burn or scald or whatever. Sorry, I may be a PITA or whatever you want to call me but 150* is a no go here.

Yep, as lukem posted, that's a burn.
Set the temp lower, and you're good.

My advice, from someone who has changed employers often years ago chasing more money, benefits etc is to follow your gut. I didn't with some and it set me back a bit
My current employer i have been with for 9 years and pretty much enjoy most days even though I could do the same thing for more money elsewhere but could be miserable doing it, there's been a few opportunities that have come up but just didn't feel like the best for me even though on paper waaaaay better

    Hope it helps

Definitely. I left for one place to go to another and I vetted them heavily. It turned out I was fed all lies, to everything except my title, pay, and vacation. That was a miss step, but it prepared me even more, and it did help with the salary increases over the years.

I don't think that will work in this case.

wildwest , just use the kiddo's safety to prove your point.

Thanks guys, it is down near 125* again as of today. I don't fool around with kiddo's safety.

Not good per se, but I did know it was coming and she is the longest lasting truck I've had, at least by age of the truck if not quite in length of ownership.

Patched it up, won't exactly last forever but the truck is at least use able for now

I've got to admit, the water temp in this house is a lot hotter. But, its just me and 99....no kids! When visitors are here, immediate warnings go out. That is way too hot for kids.
