I just brought in a load of wood and the yard is lit up from the super blood moon. A real nice bluish hue to the snow. One of the nicest nights of the winter.

How are all of you doing/feeling tonight? Lil ones turned out to be nasty cold luckilly! Except, we have it now too, and their coughs are sounding pretty rough. Might see a doc tomorrow, we'll see in the morning.

We caught the OT too, cool. Though its overcast here WWW can see the full moon out east, and crazy but true, we have zero windows facing east , we'll see how long I can stay up tonight, should be visible from our back glass slider by then.

Either way pretty cool, our yard is illuminated too. Neat stuff.

The last few nights, I didn't even need an outside light to fire up the OWB before bed.

    Thank you moon.

    Hope everyone feels better soon.

Im pretty much hanging in there. Last night the coughing started in again. I read where this flu will kick up again just when you think you are feeling better. Tonight I feel mostly tired. The Mrs. was in bed most of the day. Our son is much better tho.

We had to snow blow 4” of wet ice/snow off the driveway and walkway. Now it’s 7° and whatever wasn’t removed is solid ice. Tomorrow should be fun.

Mornin' Hoarders, woke up to -17 F with a WICKED NW wind giving us temps of -41 F. :shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver:................... Lucky enough to be nursing a very sore left hip all weekend which I believe is another Sciatic Flare-up. Gotta go out a little later to bring up a load of wood from the lower shed and clean up the 4" of wind blown snow we got on the week end. Everyone have a great and safe day.

    Those pike can be gluttons!

One was found dead with a walleye it had attacked and tried to swallow but the walleye ended up with it's head outside of one of the pike gills! About the same sizes as the ones in the vid.

I know what you're up against with that brother.

The 4" isn't so bad and maybe let the wood go for another day or two?

Sorry forgot we all love pictures:salute:

    First this:

    Then this:

    upload_2019-1-21_6-30-9.png

Then this about 45 minutes later this one was designated for dinner:
    upload_2019-1-21_6-27-13.png

I ended up seeing two more pike by 10:30 AM, but just observed their behavior. They are all different. This one came it hot and hit the decoy while I was jigging it, once I let it settle, she slid right back in. One of the other two came into a panfish jig and waxie with no interest in the decoy. The next one came in and out of the hole several times nose to nose with the decoy while it was just sitting still.

I see the video you posted now Midwinter.

Oh yes they often are gluttons and highly opportunistic. I have seen an intact 2-4 lb pike in the belly of a 38" pike, in fact the tail of it was sticking out of her gullet when she attacked my decoy; two pound bass; multiple good sized panfish; etc. One time I watched one rooting in mud along the bottom, later at home I found 8-10 frogs in it's belly.

Many days they are not feeding, and if you see one it may just lightly mouth a decoy, rub alongside it, or simply swim through with no interest at all. Like deer hunting from a stand, sometimes there are days where you see nothing much, if anything at all.

Finished off helping a friend plow, got home and there's jokes all over my friends up here in Vermont. Maybe midwinter can help with this.
Police forces are stating that just because someone's wearing a face mask does not mean they're robbing you!!$

The only people out there without Face masks, are TV reporters telling people how cold it is.

    Burlington was 35 below at 7 a.m.
The Weather Channel was at Woodstock Vermont
CBS was on top of Killington Mountain or about eight miles away. Cousins are out plowing and  .:p

Unfortunately, the 4" has blown into drifts against the doors of the cave, and I need to keep the wood train on track so it is a "suck it up, Buttercup" operation. We are forcast for 8-12" of snow tomorrow night and wednesday. Winter sucks............................

Still hard to believe we were at -14 this morning and 2 days from now it is predicted to be 38 degrees and raining.

Think I need one more day off so will enjoy sitting by the stove today.
