A few years ago, before our trip to Fiji, we stayed overnight in LA, before the long flight to Fiji. We had time to hit the Santa Monica pier. We went to play mini golf, and I handed the girl behind the counter cash, with me needing some change. I forget what she actually did, but she gave me more money than I gave her to begin with. I didn't realize it until later, otherwise I would have pointed out her mistake.

So, long story short, that's why my wife and I are professional mini golfers.

That honey lemon bourbon mix is the bomb! Hopefully that will kick the scratch.

1.59 days for me. Tomorrow is our department lunch at the Italian place, and that's an hour and a half or maybe more. So tomorrow will be .41 less of the day. There's my new math.

When I retire, the only technology I want is my chainsaw, my tractor, ........ and maybe a new wood boiler.:picard::sleeping:

Last day of work....or at least working outside a few home office hours a day until January.

Bittersweet, great old friends funeral is this morning. Cant make it due to prior commitment for work, but i.went to.his wake last night. As I expected, it was a huge turnout, and brought together a lot.of people that haven't seen each other in FAR too many years.

I hadn't seen Rick in about 4 years. In the past six months I've thought I need to stop in and say hi, he only lived 20 minutes from me. But life gets busy and I kept thinking next time. Never thought there wouldn't be a next time in our 40s! Theres a lot of friends that I have to make time to see.

You can not believe just how many times that very same thing has happened to me!

OK then, it's never happened. At all. Not even remotely! Not in the realm of any things possible. Ever.

I re-connected with a H.S. buddy a few years back. Would help each other out with projects, visit or whatever.

I spent an hour with him one evening, dropped him off at his place where he went inside and was having a pizza with his wife. She saw him rubbing the side of his head and asked what was wrong. He said, I've got to let this pass. He got up, walked across the floor to leave the room and dropped.

A few months before, he had told me that my influence on him pretty much developed his taste in music............too many summer nights riding in the GTO with the girls listening to music back in the day, I guess!

    Glad I made the effort.

I probably won’t retire for another dozen years. The current wood boiler is working well but at that time a new one with all the fancy sensors and controls would be slick.

Ah retirement! I got up this morning, saw it was raining, so went back to bed.

Yesterday I decided to not pull out any logs because the ground was getting too soft. So, the dray just went back to bed and I went to moving wood chips.

The tree trimmers have been working in the area and I offered a place for them to dump. So far we've got 4 loads. It is all spread now in the trails back in the woods with a bit left over to put in raspberries for mulch. It got to 45 yesterday! Not much frost left in the woods. Still plenty in the roads.

Got to 40 degrees today, and I hadn't loaded the stove since 1 yesterday afternoon. So at noon I decided it was cool enough to vacuum fly ash. STT was 200. All done 10 minutes:D. Thankfull, for welder gloves. House temp never dropped below 75. Forgive me Dennis;)

We went for a Christmas lunch at kiddos school, fun! The lunch lady decorated a bulliten board, too cute!! Scrabble pieces spell out the students names.

I’m in a use or loose vacation time. It actually started a week ago but yesterday was the first day I could really take.
Anyway, using the time while the snow is mostly gone and the ground is still frozen, before some big rain comes, again, and pulling stuff I’ve been cutting up to the yard.
Really was nice to be out there today.
