Thankfully you asked as I didn't want to - or rather thought I shouldn't!

After procrastinating all morning by spending time on FHC, I am off to can 40 lbs of tomatoes.

A nasty storm came thru early this AM and generated a lot of future firewood. I ran 4 tanks of gas thru the saw cleaning up my hard and the older couple down the road. Still a lot of trees down around here. Several of the corn fields are completely defoliated. My garden took (another) wicked beating. It was hot and sweaty work today.

Wow, sorry you got hit. Those crops are lost and with it a lot of money and hard work. That was good of you to help the older couple with their mess.

Well, my tomatoes were 33 lbs so I got 14 pints, 13 quarts and one pint of left over juice. Pints are for Mom, quarts for us and I use the left over juice from hot packing for soup. I didn't grow the tomatoes - picked them up on sale at Save-on-Foods.

@loon I love picking and eating cherry tomatoes but you need a green house around here to grow them because of the wind. Maybe when I retire???

We just had a dandy roll through and was scrambling for the camera  Didnt take the big girl long to get in the carport once the hail started.

You get any of this rotti? Alot more happening north of us. ;)

    Summary
Conditions will be favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms. Thunderstorms that develop may be capable of producing wind gusts to 100 km/h, hail 2 to 4 cm in diameter, and rainfall in the 50 to 75 mm range. There is also a low chance of a brief tornado. By late this evening, the severe weather threat is expected to diminish, however showers and isolated thunderstorms, with associated heavy rain, may continue through the overnight hours in some areas.

Hope the hail didn't destroy the garden - especially the cherry tomatoes.

Smart dog. I do feel bad for the critters that just have to stand out there and take it. I have several covered areas for protection . My dogs will beat the door if they want in. They know I won't make them stay out. I have a large fenced in area that also has one of the patios and a glassed in porch. When we leave home without the dogs the stay in that area and can go into the porch which is very comfortable. We are also getting a storm, more storm warnings:

    .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN AND GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE
    THROUGH THIS EVENING.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN AND GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE
    ON MONDAY.

Fixed my portable air compressor today. It wouldn't build more than 40 PSI. I wasn't sure what was going on so I took the top of the compressor assembly off. I'm sure there is a proper term for it, but it's what I'd term the cylinder head. When I pulled that off, I found that the tube that connects the "cylinder head" to the tank was broken where it went into the tank, but the break wasn't visible and I couldn't hear the leak over the noise from the motor. A quick trip to Napa for a piece of steel line, a bit of redneck engineering and it's back up and running.

That looks cool except...the animals, bugs, and mud. Maybe in certain climates? Not here.

I have come down with a case of canning fever. All I want to do is stay home from work and learn more about canning.

Hope you didn't have any hay down, though that might be better than getting thrashed with hail while it's standing? When we have T-storms, Giz finds me and stays right at my feet while she shrieks on every boom...  I like it during the day... trying to sleep at night, not so much.

The storm yesterday AM laid the hay fields down flat. What was over knee deep is now flat on the ground.

Our turn today, or should I say continued to day 2. They had some tornadoes touch down in CT yesterday and a waterspout reported in NH by the lakes region. They are calling for possible hail later on today. Told my wife to try and find parking under a tree today while shes at work, just in case the hail does decide to show.
Weird summer, only 3- 90 deg days reported so far this summer, normally it's around 12.
