    No chit!

    That's what I was thinking. Then Mwalsh9152 wants to give it a bath?
    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:
    At least if the cat is dead it can't scratch you while attempting to give it a bath.:bug:

    Oh yeah, happy birthday Backwoods Savage !

    One of my cats deserves to be in the stove! Worst pet I've ever owned.

    I didnt have enough vinegar and distilled water to boil the cat, so I just cleaned it up and sprayed it. If this helps I'll give it a boil next time.

    Hope you get your stove fixed and back on the efficient line it was desgned to do.

    After reading about the "cats" and the maintenance/problems with them, I decided to go with the stainless tube secondaries. Years ago.
    Not trying to start an argument or discussion, we already know cat stove are efficient as heck, its just that I don't want to have to take the stove apart every so often.....

    Thanks, all better now. If anything, it was lack of maintenance on my part that caused it. I haven't cleaned it since probably last February or early March. Thankfully, it's easy enough to do mid season.

    Once the coals are burned down to where I would reload, I just flip the top up, then lift off the heat shield. Stick a coat hanger or hook onto the lifting eyes and lift it right out. I stuck it outside to cool off for a few mins, then cleaned and flushed it.

    Stuck it back in and away it went. The stove is running exactly how it should now. Cat is bright orange, and the air is dialed almost all the way down. Probably took 30 mins total.

    And by now they should have the newest cats in stock. But the bath should work well.

    You actually do not have to boil it. Just use it as is. Perhaps a little warm on the water rather than cold might work best. At least I'm going to try the warm water the next time. But what I do is mix the distilled water and white vinegar 50/50 then just spray it onto the cat. Then afterwards give it another spray with just water to rinse.

    No need to take the stove apart! We just open the top lid and lift out the cat. Simple. But not all cat stoves are made this way.
