Walked out of my office to visit a child advocacy office a couple blocks away. Step outside, minding my own business and see one of my deputies in pursuit of a registered sex offender with a warrant on him.

I give flight for a nice tackle and end up going for a roll. Undaunted, I spring to my feet like a hobbled gazelle and continue the pursuit.

The idiot gasses out in the middle of a street, and received a tackle. I was right behind and piled onto his leg, to keep him from getting up. Gave me time to catch my breath and ponder my career options at this stage of life.

Traffic stopped for both directions while young officers from three different agencies converge.

Walked away unscathed, and re-established my “cred” with my guys and the others agencies.
Well thats how my day went. Came home and got the first fireplace fire fit the season going.

I know. We have commitments all weekend, and part of that meant that I had to haul and stack firewood tonight.

The 40° temp is great for working outside though. I hauled up 2 trailer loads of fir and black walnut that I had stacked a while back. I've burnt a few pieces in my stove already this year, and it burns great, so I figured I'd haul that up and stack it on the patio door burning this winter. Most of it will be for late winter/ spring of 19, as it's the first to get stacked, and last to get used because of that.

Sunday am, my cutting buddy and I will take a decent size ash tree that EAB took out from my yard. Unfortunately there's more of that, and I'm not happy about it.

Tomorrow is Oktoberfest with friends in our town center, then Sunday am chainsaw and 4 wheeler time. Sunday after noonish is all couch time.

Bullets are MUCH faster than you. ESPECIALLY when the runner in question is a sex offender!

My day pales in comparison. I usually do 3-5 hours a day of home office work on top of being out with customers. I spent 12+ hours out of the house the past two days, only throwing an hour of office work in between 7-8pm. Needless to say, I had a huge backlog. I didnt make it away from my desk until 4pm when I left to go to UPS and drop off some stuff another salesman needs in FL for a show next week.

Brewers beat the dodgers in game 1. A local restaurant chain George Webb, with locations all over the Milwaukee area, has a long standing policy of giving free burgers if the Brewers win 12 games in a row. Well, that was win #12 in a row.

So we'll get a free hamburger on Thursday after with at our local George Webb's. Of course the rest of the dinner isn't free, but that's not the point.

Insulation improvements really paying off. Last night at 8:00 the indoor temp was 76. This AM at 8:00 its 74. Heat didn't kick on all night as the baseboards are stone cold. Got down to 36 last night. Pretty not bad, I think.

Wow. We’ve been busier than beavers here. I’ve got some catching up to do tomorrow or Monday around this site.

Neither of us had all the money for them, but when we found nice low mileage, used machine I went ahead and made sure we didn’t miss them. The nice, low mileage ones don’t last long around here. o_O I’ve learned that now.

We are two happy campers though! With new appropriate helmets too!
